> Alternate > by WisdomWish > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Switch > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luna “Tia! I’m going to bed!” “Okay, good-day!” I walked up to my tower, tired from all the monster hunting. I sighed, remembering the Ursa Minor. It almost got into Ponyville. Again! I reached the top, and closed the door. I walked to my mirror that was situated by my dresser. I looked in my mirror, only to see Discord. “AHHHH!!!” I screeched. He laughed, coming out of the mirror. He stood on the dresser, as small as my mane brush. “Discord!” I said, still shocked. “Why thy are interrupting our bedtime?” He snapped his claws, turning back into his size, standing next to me. “Oh, Luna, we all know you can speak like a normal pony!” I walked away from the mirror, opening the doors to the balcony. I stepped out, my mane flowing in the wind. Discord followed me, holding a small plush of me as a filly. He waved it in my face, saying, “I’ll give it to you if you speak like a normal pony.” I rolled my eyes. Ever since he came to Canterlot for, what he called, a “monthly vacation,” Discord has been pranking Celestia and me. I don’t think he will prank me again, though, for I got him back for the water in my shower turning into chocolate milk. In the Royal Canterlot Voice, I said, “THY WILL NOT DO THIS AGAIN, OR WE WILL PUNISH THY PRANKSTER!!!” I will not give him this for Tia’s pranks, though, for those are funny. “C’mon, Luna, I’m waiting!” “Please leave, for I am tired.” I said. He started jumping up and down, saying, “Yay!” He gave me my filly plush, and snapped his claws, disappearing. Finally. I walked backed into my room, using my magic to carry the plush. I put my mane into a ponytail, and lay down in my bed, holding the tiny plush of myself. I woke up, ready to raise the moon. I walked to my balcony, and focused my magic. The moon rose steadily and slowly, as if it was rising on its own. I also scattered the stars all around the night sky, making it look beautiful. I sighed. This was some of my best work. I walked back inside, using my magic to pull out the ponytail. “Huh?” I gasped. Looking at my reflection, I saw a bigger, taller, and prettier Luna. I was the same color, but my mane looked more like the night sky than it did before. I dropped my ponytail, exasperated. I looked like my sister, only with my colors. I screamed so loud, Tia came rushing into my room. Only she looked smaller, and weaker, her striped hair now replaced with the pink mane she originally had, before she sent me to the moon. We gasped in unison, shocked by each other’s appearances. “You look like me-“ “And I look like you-“I said. We stood by each other’s side, shocked. Celestia looked like her from 1000 years ago, and I looked like her from the current time. What had happened? “Tia, did you do this?” I asked. “What? No! Why would I do this?” “I saw that alternate book on your nightstand.” As I was walking to my tower the previous day, I passed her room, the door being open. I peeked in, and saw a weird, lavender colored book on her nightstand. I used my magic to pick it up, and saw it read “Alternate” on the cover. I flipped through the pages, and read it can flip your lives! “No, Luna, I saw it at Twilight’s new castle library, so I decided to sneak it. I thought it looked interesting!” I gave her a look. “You sure?" “YES!” she exclaimed. “Okay!” I said, holding my hooves up. “So what are we going to do?” She thought for a moment. “Let’s look at that book.” We walked out of my room, bound for her tower. While walking down the spiral stairs, I couldn't stop looking at her. She looked like my Tia. The one I saw before she used the Elements of Harmony to banish me. I missed that Tia. Maybe the switch wasn't so bad after all! Besides, in this form, I'm the older sister. I'm the one that rules Equestria! We walked up to her room, items everywhere. Pillows were all over the place, her fan fiction dolls of Twilight and her friends scattered, and the shelf that held her personal books had toppled over, leaving the books in a heaping mess. This was a strange sight to see, since she was usually clean. I decided to make a joke. "What hit here, a tornado?" She gave me a look that said, Don't even. Ignoring my snicker, she walked in, stepping over all the pillows. I also walked in, but stepped on Applejack. "Owwww!" I screamed. Looking down, I saw a Rainbow Dash next to Applejack. I rolled my eyes, knowing she's been trying to get them together for a while. Also ignoring that scene, she picked up the book, and walked over to me, stepping over the items perfectly. She started looking at the book, and gasped at a certain page. "What?" I asked. She used her magic to hover the book over to me, and I gasped, too. The title said that you cannot reverse the spell unless you go through your life in this perspective. Below it was a time spell. "What?" I asked, confused. "It means that we must go through each other's life in this form. So, I guess you discover Twilight and make her a princess." Obviously she sounded annoyed. A disgusted look appeared on her face. "And you send me to the sun." I couldn't stop myself from laughing. It was to funny! She looked up at me, annoyed. I knew this was a serious situation, but it was funny. After stopping, Celestia continued. "We must have to go back in time, and relive those dreaded 1000 years." I thought for a moment. Were we really going to do this? Relive 1000 years! I'd be alone for a lot of them! But I also knew Tia didn't want to be stuck in this form. The look on her face said it. So, I agreed. "Yes." I said. She nodded her head, studying the spell. She grabbed my hoof and we disappeared into the nebula. > The Everfree > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celestia I woke up form my daze, my head and horn throbbing. I remembered everything. The book labeled "Alternate," which for some reason switched Luna's and I's roles in Equestria. In the book it had a time spell, which caused us to come.... somewhere. I looked around, seeing that I'm surrounded by huge trees. The trees, for some reason, looked mysterious, but I didn't know why. There was a small pond to my left a few feet away from me, and a huge stone building to my right. I looked at the building, somehow knowing I knew the building. I gasped. It was the Castle of the Two Royal Pony Sisters. Luna and I's old homes. I felt a tug at my heart, remembering all the secret doors and areas that were in the castle. How Luna and I did pranks on the guards. I smiled. I was glad to be here. Home. I stood up, wanting to know how old I was. I walked over to the pond, staring at my reflection. I was a little filly again, the one that my mother said that was so joyful and would bring happiness. I had on a little golden crown, with a purple jewel in the center. It looked like my original crown, except it was Luna's size. I also had a pendant with the same colors, and golden shoes on my hooves. My mane covered my left eye, like it usually does, except its back in pink. It wasn't flowing, it hung low, cascading to my neck. I was 9 years old again, which meant Luna was 15. Luna. Where was she? I looked around, not seeing she's in the grassy fields. My eyes hit the castle. She must be in the castle. Where else would she be? I headed toward it, the grass tickling my hooves. As I was near the entrance, guards suddenly saw me and bowed in my presence. I ignored it, as I usually did, focusing on finding Luna. I walked inside, my eyes catching on the shining thrones. Luna was sitting in hers, looking as happy as ever. "Sister!" She exclaimed. "Back from your leisurely stroll?" She winked, letting me know she was saying it so no one would get suspicious. She looked 15, her hair, which flowed to her knees, a dark blue color, had "stars" scattered around like the night sky. She had on a big black crown with a silver moon in the center, the pendant in the same fashion. Her shoes where a light blue, sparkling. I smiled. "Yes!" I looked up at the ceiling. Hearing my filly voice again sounded funny. It was high pitched and child-like. "Okay." she said, grinning. "How about we go check out the library? Star Swirl hoof-picked the books himself." I nodded. What was she planning? I followed her to the library, surprised she remembered the way. We reached the library, it not being dusty or dirty. The shelves were shining, them being filled with ancient books. "Luna, what are you hiding from me?" I asked. "Let's find a book to make this faster. With all these ancient books, there must be something to reverse the spell!" I looked at her as if she was stupid. "Nothing will pop up. We must go through this!" She pouted. "Can we at least look?" I rolled my eyes. She knew the pouting would make me do anything. "Fine." We started searching every shelf, every nook and cranny. We also searched all the secret rooms in the library, and each of our personal shelves in our rooms. But we found nothing. My inner filly kicked in. "I told you so!" She rolled her eyes, smiling at the same time. She noticed it too. Once upon a time, I wasn't so serious. I would prance around, carefree. Mother would always say to not be serious now, to embrace it. Because soon my duties would get the best of me. And she was right. That old pony is coming back. Maybe back for good. ~ Discord I was sitting on Celestia's throne, eating her double chocolate cake. I smiled to myself, knowing she would be killing me if she knew. But of course, she was in an alternate dimension, the one I sent her to. Yes, I sent her there, her and Luna. I wanted to get them back for turning me to stone all those years ago. We were friends before, but obviously but that behind her when she discovered the Tree of Harmony. I just erupted with laughter, and BOOM! I was stone. Fluttershy told me that's what friends don't do to each other. Of course, sun butt and I are friends now [Along with Luna]. I can't even believe they didn't figure it out I made the book! Or how they ended up in that form in the first place! It just shows there not as smart as Twilight lets them on to be. At least I didn't let Equestria rot without them. I used my magic to stop time so when they return it will be the same time they started at. How generous am I? I looked down at my plate, seeing there is no cake on it. I snapped my fingers, and another cake appeared. I snapped them again, and a cloud of chocolate rain appeared over my head. A glass appeared in my left hand, and the delicious drink filled up fromm the bottom up. It was great to be the god of chaos. ~ Celestia Luna and I were on a chariot, heading towards what will be Ponyville. Of course, that will be centuries ahead. We landed in a grassy plain, the surface changing to a pink tiled floor. I gasped. Discord. I had forgotten about him! We still had to turn him to stone and discover the elements of harmony! I facehoofed. I really didn't want to do this. "Sister," Luna spoke. "Did you also forget about Discord?" I nodded. "Yes." > Discord and the Tree > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luna "Discord!" I yelled. Tia and I were face to face with Discord, ready for round one of the fight. We didn't have the elements yet, wanting to stick with what really happened. We knew that we could defeat him faster if we went to the tree now, but we didn't want to mess with time. "Oh, Luna, my favorite of both sisters. What do you want?" He said, sitting on his throne. "We want you to stop making chaos!" My sister yelled, next to me. I was amazed that it already been 10 years since we were like this. Celestia's mane now has it's multi color, a prank by Discord (It was still funny!) She was taller now, a smaller figure to the original me. I also grew, but I still felt the same. Powerful. "Oh, Celestia, you finally speak. You should speak more often, not letting your elder sister get the best of you." I gulped. I knew were this was heading. I turned to my sister, seeing she had the same look after he said that to me all those years ago. I don't think she could help it, even if she knew it was going to happen. I stood taller. "She speaks all the time." He disappeared from his throne, reappearing by Tia, holding her mouth. She groaned in his touch, her mouth stretching to the end of her face. I had to put my hoof to my mouth to stop laughing. "Why," He said. "her mouth doesn't even look worn out from all that talking you say she does. She's not a chatter box like you." He then let go of her mouth, and appeared on his throne again. I looked over to my sister, seeing her white hooves on her mouth, rubbing. Soon enough, Celestia I would realize that we needed something more to defeat him. After we attempt to defeat the god of chaos, we would run, him laughing at us. I looked to the pink floor, remembering what soon happened after that. But this time, it wasn't me. I looked to my right, seeing Tia looking at me. She nodded, and yelled at the same time, "You will be defeated!" We then brought our horns together, and blasted a magic beam straight at him. Star Swirl had taught us this one, and we knew it would effect nothing. The beam was extremely bright, and it glowed between a mixture of yellow and blue, our colors. I could see Discord, holding his claw and paw up towards his face, blocking it. When our magic was at the limit of being annihilated from the powerful spell, Tia pulled away, and I did the same, We were panting now, trying to regain our energy. Discord pulled away from his face, and smiled, revealing his fang. He laughed, floating in the air. "Ha! I TOLD you so! I knew nothing could defeat me!" He snapped his fingers, causing his throne to grow bigger. "You ponies should just go ahead and hand over your crowns, because I'm already the ruler!" He laughed again, only harder this time. He wiped a tear from his eye. "No hard feelings?" Celestia looked over at me, and I did the same, we nodded again, not needing words to know what we were going to do. We ran off, His laugh ringing in my ears. Let's do this. ~ "The Tree of Harmony." Celestia and I ran all the way through the Everfree Forest just to get to get to the tree. On our way, Discord made the clouds rain chocolate milk, so we were both soaked. But we finally made it. I looked over to my sister, seeing she had a confused look on her face. "What is it, sister?" I asked. She turned, the look still on her face. "Last time, I had the Elements of Magic, Generosity, and Kindness. You had Loyalty, Honesty, and Laughter. Does this mean we switch elements because we're...... the alternative?" I now had the same look. "I think so." Tia flew up to the tree, and I did the same. We focused our magic, and removed 5 elements. I grunted, the magic draining all my stength. I concentrated, and the sixth, Magic, appeared from its hiding place. I gathered my elements, and she gathered hers, and put them in our satchels. Well, Discord. I thought. Time for you to be a statue in our garden again. We walked through the forest, getting scrapes and cuts on our body. I couuld see blood dripping out of one of Celestia's cuts, so I used my magic to heal the wound. "Thanks." She said, smiling. We exited the forest, our hooves know touching the checkered floor. I could see Discord in the far distance, munching on the seeds. We walked towards him, the seeds falling to the ground. "Oh, this is so much fun!" He exclaimed, taking another handful of the seeds, and dropped them in his mouth, munching. "Playtime is over for you, Discord." I said, partially using the Royal Canterlot Voice. "Oh, I doubt that!" He snapped his fingers, my tail now in his claw. "How about a game of pin the tail on the pony!" My face stay expressionless, not amused. He laughed, then took another handful. "Hungry?" The seeds bounced off our muzzles, onto the ground. It tickled, so I wrinkled my muzzle to get rid of the itch. "Suit yourselves." Celestia reached into her saddlebag, taking out the elements. I did the same, studying the Element of Magic. We lined them up in front of us, from: Generosity, Kindness, Magic, to; Loyalty, Honesty, and Laughter. "Oh," He spoke. "Whatcha got there?" "The Elements of Harmony." "And with them we shall defeat you!" Tia spoke, her voice loud and full. We circled them around us, creating the magical force. He started laughing. "Oh, the looks on your faces! So serious, so sure of yourselves! The intensity!" He combined our horns together, making the power of the elements go upwards, a rainbow. It shot down like a hill, making Discord into stone, capturing his laughing state. We panted, catching our breath. That took a lot of strength. "Well," I said. "Ready to put him in the back with the poison joke?" "Yep."
