The Long, Lonely Road

Big McIntosh hated taking pies to Cynthiana. First it was a long walk from Sweet Apple Acres. Next it was uphill most of the way, with no rest spots along the way. It was also not a well maintained road. With lots of mud and pot holes.

But, the worst part was Mirage. She was a sweet little pony that was real easy on the eyes. She was also an earth pony, like Big McIntosh. Mirage’s mane was golden, a little bit like Big McIntosh’s sister Applejack. Mirage’s also had a light blue coat, with big black sexy eye’s.

Those eyes of Mirage’s, were the sexy, sweet, and very sad. They were hard to look into with out feeling her pain.
Big McIntosh try hard to put Mirage out of his mind. He would have to think of Miss Cheerilee. That would do the trick.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
There was a future with Cheerilee. She was friendly and real smart. And being the Ponyville school teacher, she was already good with colts. That would be a big plus when it came time to have a family.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Cheerilee was very loving and caring. She could even be sexy when she felt safe and was in the right mood. When she wanted to be, Cheerilee, could be very sexy.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
The last time Cheerilee had felt safe and warm, she had let her sexy side out. Both Big McIntosh and Cheerilee had an evening of shear joy.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Cheerilee had the sweetest tasting kisses in the world, The taste of her lips made Big McIntosh feet good all over. Even stronger, almost like a wild stallion.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
There were few stallions that would not give up their cutie mark for just one kiss from Cheerilee, and Big McIntosh had been given over a dozen. That made him feel very special in deed.

Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
Big McIntosh was enjoying his memories of being with Miss Cheerille. He was even starting to dream about what might happen when they saw each other next time. When Big McIntosh heard a voice just off to his right side. “May I walk with you?” It was a little mare who asked. It was Mirage.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
Mirage was right next to Big McIntosh. As much as he wanted to say ‘no’, he knew that telling her that would only make the trip that much worse.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
This was Mirage’s road. She would not go away even if she was told so. And, she would make each steep to Cynthiana pure misery if she was made angry.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
Big McIntosh was forced into saying “Yep”. It was all he could say. If he had to listen to Mirage, it may as well be something close to pleasant.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“My name is Mirage.” The dark eye mare said in a very sexy voice. She came up close to Big McIntosh. He did not like how close she had come to him.
Big McIntosh just snorted.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
Big McIntosh just keep his eye’s set on the road. Not saying a word. Mirage giggled. “You do not talk much, do you?”
“Nope.” Replied Big McIntosh.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“You look like a shy sort of stallion. Is that what you are?” Asked Mirage.
“Yep.” Said Big McIntosh.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“I like big strong, but shy bucks like you. There are so much fun to be with.” Said Mirage is a alluring voice.
Big McIntosh just snorted.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“You know, I have two bottles of hard cider Jack, and this is a long road. How would you like to stop, and enjoy yourself for a bit.” subjected Mirage.
“Nope.” Said Big McIntosh.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“I am sorry. I bet you got a filly. You got a gal don’t you?” pouted Mirage.
“Yep.” Replied Big McIntosh.”
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“Well, I won’t tell her, if you don’t.” Said Mirage, whispering in Big McIntosh’s ear.
Big McIntosh just snorted and said “Nope!”
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“You are a loyal sort. You are being very loyal to her indeed. Let’s see you are strong, shy, loyal and very good looking stallion. She is one lucky gal.” Said Mirage.
*Huff* went Big McIntosh.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“It is not being disloyal to just stop and talk to some pony for a bit. I sure she would understand that.” Said Mirage.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“I mean, is it wrong to want some pony nice to talk to and… Well, is it wrong?” Asked Mirage. Her voice sounding very sad.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie-clip - Clippie-clip
“Is it really that wrong to want what all ponies want. To feel love?” Asked Mirage now starting to cry.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie - Clippie
At once Mirage’s voice changed to one of alarm. “You do not want to go on. Something bad happen just up this road.”
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie - Clippie
“Please. Stop. Please.”
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Clippie
“Don’t leave me. Please. I am so lonely.” begged Mirage.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Mirage stop and Big McIntosh went on.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
A short ways up the road Big McIntosh saw a grave stone just off the right shoulder.
Clop-clop---clop-----clop
Big McIntosh stopped and looked at the grave. All around the grave were Forget-me-not flowers, and the inscription upon the stone read. “Rest In Peace: Mirage. Die eighteenth year of life. Wagon accident.”
“Sorry.” Said Big McIntosh. The story he had hear, was the Mirage was the fastest wagon puller in the county. One night, drunk on hard cider Jack, she had gotten into a race with some other ponies. Mirage hit a pot hole the wrong way, and the wagon she was pulling some how flipped over, crushing her. Now, a ghost, Mirage, wanted some pony to help her haunt the long lonely road.
Clop-clop-clop-clop
Yep, Big McIntosh had a lot to live for, and Miss Cheerille was going to play a big part in his future.

The End.
It's kind of a sad plot, but you got me to read so it worked.
The only thing I'd tell you is to fix Big Mac's name on the top.
"Macintosh"
All in all keep it up.
This is a real interesting premise that could benefit from an editor and, in my opinion, not giving away the reveal that Mirage is a ghost in the description. And...

...I believe McIntosh is the spelling on enough merch that it might be the official one.
4071024 Thank you. I want to grow as a writter. I am happy that you enjoy yourself.
You did a excellent job of telling this story, I really enjoyed it, but it's sort of interesting, in a few of my stories I've had ghosts also, in the country sited, and in the royal palace.
Looking forward to more stories
4132112 Thank you for your kind words. The story I base my on the urban legend of the vanishing hitchiker.
A lot of stories are, but this one was much better...
