Giant...Turtles?

"You got that right, Spike." Rainbow Dash commented, rubbing her head with her hoof. Fluttershy looked around. "where are we?" she asked to no pony in particular. Spike noticed to what seemed to be a village. "Maybe we can ask somepony there?" he threw in. They walked over towards the village, with Spike carrying the device. The houses seemed to be a bit more advanced then they were used to. They were all made out of wood, and a few had some windows. The village was quiet, and even though no pony was around, it was quite cheerful. Fluttershy smiled as she looked around. Suddenly a door opened. "Ah, thank goodness, somepony is here!" Spike said, as he walked towards the door.

When the door opened fully, the three were startled. it was a brown, mushroom shaped creature wearing a hat, and it stared right back at them. "What is that thing F-F-Fluttershy?" Spike asked, looking towards her.

"I-I don't know," she replied " I have never seen anything like it..." The creature approached them. "Hi! The name is Goombario. Who are you guys?" It said. If their jaws could of allowed it, it would have fallen all the way down to the ground. "You can talk?" Rainbow Dash stammered out.

"Yep! Have you ever seen a goomba before?" it asked. Spike shook his head. "Well, my name is Rainbow Dash, this is Fluttershy, and thats Spike." Rainbow Dash announced. The goomba noticed that Fluttershy was cowering away from him. "It's okay, I'm not here to hurt anyone." he said, approaching Fluttershy. Fluttershy quickly ran behind Rainbow Dash. She was shaking like mad. Goombario looked apologetic. "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I think we should get out of here," Spike said, pressing the button on the machine. The machine didn't even make a whir sound, it stood there. Spike pressed it once again, and got the same result. Suddenly, a robotic voice announced "You can only use the Demino-matic once every 24 hours." The ponies and dragon groaned. "Hey what's that? It looks like something Prof. E. Gadd would make!" Goombario comments.

Rainbow Dash approaches Goombario a bit more. "Who's Prof. E. Gadd?"

"He is the inventor here in the Mushroom Kingdom. He lives in the castle over there," Goombario says, pointing a foot towards the castle over in the distance. Spike looked over there for a few seconds. "I guess we are walking." he sighs. Rainbow Dash smirks. Before Spike knew it, he was bumped on top of Rainbow Dash. "Huh?" He let out. Rainbow Dash flew into the air, Fluttershy not far behind. Before Spike could say anything, Rainbow Dash yelled "Hang on!"

Spike did so, and Rainbow Dash quickly flew over towards the castle, Fluttershy trailing behind. Rainbow Dash flew right over the castle walls, not noticing the mushroom people with large caps. She landed safely right in the town, and Spike hoped off, while Fluttershy landed nearby. They noticed the strange mushroom creatures, that panicked and ran away. "What in Equestria are those things?" Rainbow Dash asks.

"Rainbow Dash, remember, we aren't in Equestria anymore. I think there might be an itsy, bitsy, more creatures here," Fluttershy whispered. Rainbow Dash mouthed "Oh." and looked around at the buildings. Obviously, they seemed a bit more advanced then the one's back home. She noticed the flashing lights on one, and that the roofs were made of brick. "'Come on guys! We need to go find the E. Gadd dude!" Spike demanded.

"Yeah, come on Fluttershy," Rainbow Dash said, looking over towards her. She followed cheerfully. They walked in the entrance to the actual part of the castle. The hallway they stood in seemed to stretch endlessly. When they reached the throne room, they noticed something that looked like one of those mushroom things, but without a cap, it wore a pink dress, and was taller. "Hello? Do you know where we can find this E. Gadd guy?" Spike asked, walking towards the princess. She stares at Spike for a moment, and then to his friends.

"Dr. E. Gadd is in his room over there," the princess said, "but what are you?" Spike pointed towards his chest. "I'm a dragon," he pronounced proudly. The princess nodded,and let them go towards E. Gadd's lab. When they walked in, they noticed a vast amount of strange objects in the area. "Hello? Is Prof. E. Gadd here?" Rainbow Dash called out.

"Give me a minute!" a voice replied. Then, a zany, older, shorter, version of the princess approached them. "You called?" the professor asked. Spike nodded. "Did you create this?" he asked, showing him the device. E. Gadd frowned. "I'm sorry. I don't believe I have created something like that. From the looks of it, you came from an entire different dime-" E. Gadd started, only to be interrupted by...

"HELP ME!!" a voice screamed from back in the throne room. Quickly, the 4 run into the throne room, to see an giant turtle kidnapping the princess. "Who is that?" Spike asked pointing towards the turtle.

"His name is Bowser," replied E. Gadd. Suddenly, the entrance from the throne room flew open. Another one of those creatures like the princess wore a red cap, while another stood behind him, wearing a green cap. They quickly sprang into action, but it was too late. Bowser has already flown out of the castle. They stopped, and turned towards towards Spike, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy. "Hm?" the green one emmitted.

"I think you should meet Mario and Luigi. The green one is Luigi, while the red one is Mario." E. Gadd proclaims. Mario reached out a hand towards Spike. "Hello!" he said, in an interesting accent. Spike paused for an moment, but then decided to shake hands. Luigi decided to keep his distance. "What happened to that princess?" Fluttershy squeaked curiously. E. Gadd just managed to barely hear her. "She was kidnapped. I have to ask you, can you help Mario and Luigi get her?" he said, turning towards the three.

Rainbow dash nodded. Spike shrugged. "Sure, I guess." he said. Fluttershy looked worried. "Oh, don't be such a scaredy pony!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. Fluttershy whimpered, and nodded slowly. "Thank you for helping us out!" E. Gadd said, "Bowser lives only so far away." He pointed towards an threatening castle through an window. "Alright everypony, lets go!" Rainbow Dash said. The gang walked outside. "Alright mustache faces, hop on me and Fluttershy, and while your at it, get Spike on too," Rainbow Dash commanded.

The brothers did so, and both pegasi flew into the air. Mario almost lost his cap when Rainbow Dash flew as fast as she did. Luigi, Spike, and Fluttershy were trailing behind. They managed to reach the castle in a nick of time. They all landed safely at the castle gates.

The brothers and Spike hopped of, and they ran into the castle. Strange baddies looked at them, and quickly attacked. The Mario brothers held them off, while the 3 Equestrians ran into the main throne room. Instead of entering the throne room, they stood on a bridge, with Bowser on the other side. Bowser held a remote, and quickly pressed the single button on it. 2 cages dropped from the sky, imprisoning Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. "GUYS!" Spike yelped. Bowser laughed a long, evil laugh. He then began to come Spike's way. Spike began to panic, then got an idea.

Quickly, he charged at bowser, and slid under him. He made it to a button, which he curiously pressed. The bridge collapsed instantly after he pressed that, letting bowser fall into the lava. The traps were lifted, and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were free. Another door opened, and they saw the princess alone in the room. "Oh! Mar-.... Dragon?" the princess said, confused. Spike smiled proudly. "Yup! Spike has saved the day once again!" he said, pointing towards his chest. Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes.

"Come on pipsqueak, I think its time for us to get going." she said, motioning them towards the exit. Spike and the princess followed. They exited the room, and saw Mario and Luigi, tuckered out from knocking out all those enemies. They stood up when they saw the princess. "Come on, lets get back to the castle," she said, with a warm smile.

They reached the castle in about an hour, because the pegasi couldn't carry everyone. The princess settled into her throne, and looked at the 3 Equestrians. "I want to thank you for helping us." she said, "You shall be rewarded for your actions. You 3 may rest in the main guest quarters." Spike nodded, he felt a yawn coming on. The three headed towards their room. "Wow. That was so. Much. Fun." Rainbow Dash said, grinning to herself. Spike yawned. "Yeah... I think I'm going to hit the hay for now...." he said, as they entered the room.

There were exactly three beds, for all of them. Spike quickly ran towards one, has he drifted of to sleep. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy stayed up a bit latter, but soon, fell asleep as well. It has been a long day for our 3 Equestrians.

The second chapter is coming along nicely now, it might be done before, or after the end of this weekend. Sorry I'm so slow.

Huzzah! At first I thought this was gonna be like Paper Mario until Proff. E. Gadd came along! I wonder if Spike will end up anywhere that dragons are seen as enemies? ? Well ONWARDS!!!
