It won't have escaped the notice of anyone who takes an interest in what I write that... well, that I haven't written anything for a while. Apart from a 300-word Trixie flashfic in April, I haven't published any fiction here since February. This was definitely not where I was expecting to be at this point in the year, especially as The Danger Within was intended specifically
I'm off on holiday on Saturday, so I won't see the next two episodes for some while. Also, no, I haven't abandoned writing. I'm embarrassed to admit that my so-called block-breaker bit of silliness (The Danger Within) has stalled, but I do have most of chapter five ready. One more small scene will do it, but I doubt that will be done before I go away. There's also another little one-shot that's about two-thirds done, plus another (more serious) story in outline. I'll be away visiting relatives for a few days over Easter, so I may well not get a chance to see (or review) episode 3 for a little while. I'll try to catch up when I get back. Also, a sudden avalanche of Stuff That Needs Doing Yesterday has meant I haven't been able to keep to my intention of putting chapter 5 of The Danger Within up by month's end. My apologies for that. It is coming as soon as I can, though.
Chapter 4 of The Danger Within is up. I rather struggled with this one, not least because our weather seems to have forgotten that England isn't supposed to have ice days and blizzards. Still, it's up now, and I'm relieved to have got it done. Note that the [Violence] tag has now been added -- nothing much for now, but it's there. Onward to chapter 5 I go!
I haven't abandoned my intention of churning this story out quickly. It's simply that a large number of Real Life Factors have coincided this month. I do now have a rough version, though (rougher than usual, yes!) and I hope to publish chapter 4 before the end of February on Wednesday. No promises, though!
Come on, who could resist that title? Anyway, although this is the sort of thing I generally put on Louder Yay, I thought a brief update might be in order for those of you who are kind enough to follow me here. Don't expect this sort of thing every month, nor for me to go into great detail. It's just a quick summary.
Here is chapter 3 of The Danger Within! Released deliberately on Super Bowl Sunday because I can't be the only person who wants to get away from that sort of thing. 
There's a blurb for those who are keeping up beyond the page break, as it's reached the point where I can't really do one without spoilers.
Chapter 2 of The Danger Within is now out! It's called "More Questions than Answers", and I'm sure you'll have a few of the former after reading it. Will we learn any more about where Fancy, Flutters and Rares have ended up? Will they meet anyone to help -- or hinder? Will Rarity calm down a bit? Somewhere between none and all of those questions will be answered this time. 
It's been far too long since I last published anything (late February, in fact!), so here's a real live new story from me. Placeholder title image for now; it will probably be changed at a later date:
