Please don't expect these tags to be added right away, or to all be added at once, as adding these will take some time staff-side and we think there might be a couple of minor related problems to be solved before everything can get added.

To eliminate problems where stories that have very few votes can be sunk by only 1-2 people disliking them, stories with under 15 votes no longer display rating data to anyone but the author. This should give everyone a fair chance at success, even with a couple early haters, but actually-bad stories should quickly-enough accumulate enough downvotes to show as negative that you can still easily avoid them.

We will adjust the number of votes required for visibility later if needed.

Hi guys. So, lately we've noticed that there's been a little confusion over what exactly Fimfiction considers to be a NSFW image. The rules do say that you shouldn't post them, but they're a little unclear on exactly what a NSFW image IS. This being so, we've sat down and put together a clearer policy on what sort of image content is too much. I guess it bears reminding that none of this is particularly new stuff. Fimfiction has been running on something akin to this policy for months now.

We've actually had this ready to go for like 2 weeks but kept forgetting to deploy it. Smart huh?

Anyway, the site now has multi factor authentication! yay! What does that mean I hear you ask? Well, you can now add an extra level of security to your account by adding an additional login step that requires use of a phone/tablet/other device. It's totally optional though.

Minor update really here. Blog posts now support tags. Below the content entry for a blog post there's a field for adding comma separated tags. These are ranked highly on searches and can also be searched directly for like so: https://www.fimfiction.net/search/blog-posts?q=%23the-witcher-3 which is the link you'll go to if you click on a tag at the bottom of a post.

There's a cap of 20 tags per post which should be ample :p

edit: Fixed a bug where you'd always get an empty tag added

I've updated the user and story headers today to bring them more in line with the rest of the site and stop them being between the nav bar and user toolbar, which was always stupid. Functionally basically nothing has changed but if you have any issues, let us know.

Only real change is that the online/date joined indicator for user pages is shifted to the bottom left for wide monitors.

Spent the last day working on this. Avatars, group images and banners now support client side cropping when you upload images. You can move the view finder by click and dragging, resize by grabbing the anchors (hold shift to scale in all directions) and double click to fill the maximum area possible.
