Can fan music exist in the world that they are a fan of? For example, my favorite artist is NateWantsToBattle.
So, if I had a self-insert in a FNaF fanfic, can that self-insert still listen to 'Nightmare' by NateWantsToBattle?

It works perfectly. The reason why it works is because both the fanmade songs and the novel were made in parallel. The songs are essential to the story and the story is essential to the songs.

Not sure how you can make it work though.
