Hey Acarcion here or Chase, whatever you prefer. I'm hoping to help out the project through making the background music and doing the sound design (I.e sound effects, voice acting mastering, ect).

I'm an experienced electronic artist and want to know what type of music we're are looking for so I can start getting idea's on what to make. Considering the size the game will probably be we will need tons of music so I want to start now so I can get ahead of the game :derpytongue2:

4919354 You could start with an intense, fast-paced battle theme. Any kind will do really because we need variety.

4919393 Ya that's be a good place to start, main question though, 8 bit styled or stay away from that?

Hey.

Gears here.

I love 8-bit music, but it wouldn't fit with the style of graphics Unity 3D (our game engine) generates and the general style of the game.

The Main Theme/Main Menu Music should be first.

Hope this clears any doubts.

4919411 Well, 8-bit could work for some music, depending on the character or place it relates to.

4919411 OK I haven't been active in many of the threads so i didn't see we were using unity, I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks!

Also, what type of attitude do we want in the menu/theme we thinking? Happy adventurous? Daring and dangerous? or something somber?

Think Murray Gold.

You do realise that I'm also a composer and on the music team, right?
Once the head is voted we can work together.

Only in some very specific cases.

There should always be calming music during non battle scenes

4919425 Oh shit yeah you told me earlier xD

4919449 Suspenseful moments need it too.

Suspenseful moments need mostly tense music. Not battle music, but tense.

4919354 I agree with turning gears here. 8-bit music would be cool sometimes. variety and stuff and...
I'll just go .... :twilightsheepish:

4919925 That was me that said that...

4920071 oh shit. Sorry. Didn't see that.
My apologies

Yo, just a simple update, I have a lot of time during the day so I started on a simple battle theme, at the end of the day I'll post it unlisted on youtube to see if the style works

4920071 I could get my band back together and see if I can make some tracks for the game. That is, if you want me to.

4920184

Sure; it sounds amazing.

4920255 FYI I made a simple one, kinda evolved into creepy boss music but still works to show something

It's okay. I heard your work on Soundcloud and figured there would be a lot of creepy atmospheric music. :pinkiecrazy:

4919434 Hmm... This might be stupid, but...
Watcha' guys think of... maybe... modern techno music in the future, and 16-bit stuff in the past?

Alicorn Airport

4920282

It's not stupid.

But I (personally) think that orchestral lends itself to both epic, dark, and bright scenes more than any other style.

4920289 Me too, but it seems as though we've only access to techno, so I had to factor that in, ya know

4920301

Well, I compose orchestral, electro-pop, rock, and ambient. So... you know.

I'm almost sure most of the music team would be willing to experiment with orchestral. And weird atmospheric can be really good in communicating, well, atmosphere.

4920317 Hmm... composing's one thing, but wouldn't it need to be recorded somewhere?

4920317 Atmospheric is my specialty, and once I get access to a decent synthesizer I could do orchestratal

4920330

What I meant is compose, play and record. :twilightsheepish: Sorry...

I own Studio One, Ableton 9, and FL Studio. And a Behringer UMA-25X.

4920337 Ooooh... Then do dat shit boai!
I still feel the music in the past should have a different stule though...

Alicorn Airport

4920340

Well, it could be easy:

Purely orchestral for the past, orchestral with electric guitars, pedals, and various synthesisers for the future.

4920344 Hmm... what say you about orchestral and jazzy? For the past that is.
Also, changing music is a must depending on the area.

Alicorn Airport

4920361

Aye.

But before we do things like that, we need to finish voting for Area Leaders. Then we can start working.

4920367 I know, just sayin'. Kinda the purpouse of this post, no? Ideas and stuff

4920282 it's not that stupid. I like it. Maybe not to techno but... that's my opinion

Alicorn Airport

4920378

I like the atmospheric.

With a Phaser effect to give it an airy sound, and a stretch to approximately 0.70 tempo, it would be perfect for creepy areas.

4920436 and then possibly have it gradually speed up at the arrival of battle or something along those lines

Alicorn Airport
Group Admin

4920484

Yeah. Speeding up to increase tension works very well.

4920405 I only said techno cuz i thought it's the only style we could get
4920407 What?

Gamerguy1313
Group Admin

4920378 I like it. I would stretch it and add some areas of variation to the later 1/2 of it.

4920628 I know. Just being open for more suggestions

4919354
Everyone can feel free to cruise my channel to see if I've got any fitting music.
Look up, Erisian Chaos, on YouTube. I can't link cause I'm on a tablet ATM.

4920282 ooh that's good, it pits atmosphere in, but it kinda acts like the game knows it's a game

4923839 already subscribed to you :p did so awhile ago
