One of my stories is going to have a switching. How do I describe it? I tend to overuse the word smack when writing a spanking scene but a switch is more of a swish and swish really doesn't properly describe a spanking.

I think its kind of a mix between a swish and a hiss. Almost like a sharp, inhaled wince you might make from the strike that's about to land.

You know the sound...kind of like it literally cuts through the air on the way to a helpless bottom. This low sharp, concentrated wind like sound and then the snap of impact.

Bite, Rip, cut, tear, slash, and slice describes a switching nicely.
