For those that have played this old game on GBA or DS, what would be your favorite tactic and CO

Mine would start out small and when I can, build MD tanks in the first two games. I haven't got a chance to play the others.
I know Neo's are more powerful, but I prefer MD tanks along with my favorite CO's super to give them an edge on those tanks.

Favorite CO is Kanbai. (hope I spelled it right)

Look it up on Google. Might not be as good as Total War, but was always a very funny game.
