Meet Vice Grip, he looks a bit young in this picture but he's a nice guy, earth pony about twenty-five years old. That is, unless you happen to be a pony or any other creature that uses magic. You see, Vice Grip was born in an era before Equestria was ruled by the princesses, during the time when there was still a representative of each tribe. Vice Grip's father, Rice Puddinghead was the last Chancellor of the Earth Ponies to hold the office before it was mysteriously abolished and replaced with mayor, a position beneath the princess instead of equal to.

Because of this, Vice Grip hates magic, believing it to be inferior to technology in every way. He opposes the princesses, believing them to be neglectful rulers who have led the nation of Equestria into stagnation, chaos and despair disguised as harmony. But it's a belief that Vice must keep hidden day and night, as Equestria's champions remain ever-vigalent. But it wasn't always this way and Vice remembers a time when Equestria could've been ruled by something other than magic, a time that history has forgotten… but he has not.

How Vice has survived so long is any pony's guess. What is known is that the truth of his mysterious past is his alone, for now. And it may also be the key to understanding what he plans for the future. For now, the stallion calling himself Vice Grip has dangerous plans, dark designs for a new Equestria ruled by the might of his machines instead of magic. With an army of specialized diamond dogs called Ore Hounds at his disposal, he constructs machines and weapons to harness and control the power of magic, twisting it until his corrupted dreams become reality.

Intelligent, resourceful and ruthless, Vice Grip's talent is in technology yet mysteriously he has no cutie mark. On the surface, he appears to be just an ordinary brown earth pony. If he walked on all fours, he wouldn't look any different from the many other ponies yet he chooses not to. Vice Grip truly believes that technology is the future, going so far as to wear augmented prosthetics over his hooves in order to simulate bipedal movement and interaction. In actuality though, all his tools are just means to an end, manipulative machinations designed to further his own goals and place Equestria and all ponies in it within his malevolent grasp. And with resources and intellect like his, it may only be a matter of time before the magic of friendship itself falls into the iron palm of Vice Grip.

[Character History]
Has been around for at least several centuries, nopony is sure which hive he was born in, or when. Not even Queen Chrysalis, or her brother King Morpheus know, where Cult Race a.k.a. Savage Raza Culthu true origins lies. What they can both agree on is that Cult Race was the First of the Alpha Changelings. Alpha Changelings had the ability to go very long periods without feeding off the Love of other ponies. This made them to be perfect sleeper agents for Queen Chrysalis to use. Without tell her peace loving brother, Queen Chrysalis decided to breed large amounts of them in secret and had them place under her mind control. However when she tried to mind control Cult Race. It ended badly when he decide to repay her by literally ripping out the Hearts of three her favorite lovers.

[Current Home]
Currently lock up in Tartarus for several murders that he committed. It is unknown how many murders he is serving time for. They were never able to find all the bodies. However it is rumored that some of murder victims include Applejack's parents, Flash Sentry's parents, and Jack Nox's mother. Even though he is imprison he somehow keep in contact with Grogar, being that Grogar is the one who rescued him from the Hives, for that reason, he is eternally loyal to Grogar.

Personality: Night Shadow is a genius in the realms of science, tactics, and infiltration. He makes sure to keep a tight grip on his kingdom and army, and is willing to punish any of his subordinates severally if they step out of line unless he’s extremely busy planning for something, need to focus on an important experiment, or they’re of strategic value to him, for the time being at least. He is willing to lend his assistance to anyone who comes to him for help, but he expects them to return the favor at a moment of his choosing. He can be easily distracted by scientific talk/debates, but he will eventually get back on track depending on the situation. He views Earth ponies as nothing really more than blank slates to experiment on and cares little for their wellbeing during said experiments.

[Character History]
Night Shadow was born in Hordrigg Castle, but his ancestors can be traced all the way to Ponyville which at the time had only been a small colony.
He earned his Cutie Mark when he was in the labs creating his first spell that genetically fused two creatures together.
His ancestors conquered the Abysmal Islands thousands of years ago, and his family has maintained its grip on them ever since, hiding their presence from the world via dark magic cloaking spell

His current residence is Hordrigg Castle on the Abysmal Islands and continues the experiments his family has been conducting for thousands of years.

Powers:
Night Shadow, like all unicorns, can use basic magic and spells such as telekinesis, teleportation, etc. However, he prefers to use the dark magic that his family has been developing for ages. Some of the spells in his arsenal are an enhanced version of telekinesis (able to lift almost anything with relative ease), teleportation (teleports have a longer range than normal magic, and is dead on accurate), a fusion spell used to forcefully splice DNA into a Pony, or anything he’s experimenting with.
Given how not much is known about dark magic on the show, you can pretty create DM spells that meet your story’s needs as long as it doesn’t him into a Gary Sue.
Combat Abilities:
Night Shadow is as skilled in combat as he is in science, though he’s not undefeatable. He’s physically stronger than most earth ponies, due to genetic modification, but still falls short of an Alicorn’s. He has an arsenal of DM spells he can use to assist him in battle. However, despite all this, he has a hard time multitasking in terms of defense and offense. Against a singular opponent he can do both, but against several he can either be on the offensive, or defensive, but not both.
