In the episode "The Ticket Master," Twilight orders a daffodil sandwich. So it's canon that ponies eat flowers. Although, maybe they only eat certain species of flowers. Even I eat fried Zucchini Flowers.

Are the flower ponies selling food?
Would they be insulted if somepony bought a bouquet for eating? One that wasn't meant for eating.

I think that they tend to sell finer flowers from the shop than snack flower, but they probably sell eating flowers at the market.

Although probably for the right occasion, nice edible bouquets are a good gift.

I sort of imagine them as neatly arranged fruit bowls. They look nice, and they're edible.
