The Maud Pie group only has one admin who hasn't logged in in over a year. I sent him a message a week ago and got no response. There appears to be little to no desire from the group's membership to rectify this, so it's not only abandoned, but also seems to be dead.

There is another Maud Pie group, Maud Pie is Best Pony, which is twice as large and has a full complement of admins. This is a viable alternative to the Maud Pie group. (Although it seemed equally as dead the last time I checked).
