So while I wait for "No Man's Sky" (PS4 & PC EXCL), I've been playing a unbelievable 121 hours of "Stellaris" (PC EXCL on Steam Store). Got it because it looked like civilization in space. I cannot express how much I enjoy vanilla but also modded. My race of hippies and xenophillia got me thinking.

What would Equis be, or more so, Equestria in general.

Traits:
(-1) Slow Lerners: Leader Exp Gain -25% (Members of this Species is slow to learn from their experiences)

(+1) Communal: +5% Happiness (Members of this species are highly communal, and quite used to living in close proximity to others)
With Genetic Tailoring with remaining point = +2 Traits
(+2) Agrarian: +15% Food (This species has a deep connection to the land, and make expert farmers)

Government and Ethics

Ethics: (With Mod = 6 Picks)

Authoritarian
Xenophobia
Pacifist
Fanatic Socialist (Two Picks)
Ecological

Government: Enlightened Monarchy (Diarchy)

It's a pretty fun game minus the long periods of waiting to get enough minerals or a tech research completed....

What do you guys think?

When I did Equestria I gave them nonconformist(?) (it might have been slow learners or sedentary, it was some random option that I didn't think would matter), rapid breeders (prey species), charismatic and communal (because Equestria is a happy place and they want good relations with everyone). Xenophilia didn't seem appropriate, so I went with spiritualists (because it leads to magic powers) and fanatic pacifist (duh).

Peaceful Bureaucracy for the government.

...some of these were gamey choices, of course. But I think charismatic is a must-have. Everyone wants to live in Equestria!

Once I got genetic manipulation I made all the migrant aliens charismatic and communal too. q:3

It was a very... peaceful playthrough. I was literally never in a war.

After I got bored of that I made griffons (militarist, individualist, materialist) (nonadaptive, nomadic, industrious (for all the bits), strong) who proceeded for forcibly annex everyone and then keep them happy with hyper-entertainment centers and virtual combat arenas even though the empire's ethics were all over the place. Pacifists were the worst! Always complaining about being at war and terror bombing and a militarist regime... ugh.

An early pre-space-flight civilization were the Emaecra or something like that... floating tentacle monsters? They were Tropical to Griffons' native Arid and ended up having reasonably compatible ethics, and I colonized a bunch of worlds with them.

The genetic modification gave me Neo Griffons who were repugnant and very strong. I changed them to arctic preference and made them adaptive, and used them to colonize a *lot* of worlds (and not just to make all my armies, although I did that too).

By the time I got bored with that playthrough the griffons were a minority race in their own empire. o.o;

...then I started over with Changelings. Conformist, communal, repugnant, fanatic collectivist militarists. Wiped out all my neighbors early on, until I ran into one that was also collectivist and so could live. The galactic map display is strangely empty -- since I've been purging everyone even if I couldn't hold their worlds, I don't get the 'hey, we heard about you from a mutual contact' thing happening, so it's all terra incognita.

Oh, and the changelings invaded WWII Earth, infiltrated a single pop, and then purged everyone. That's their SOP for worlds where the climate is suitable. I like to pretend that they're disguising themselves as the former inhabitants. :trollestia:

5377109 I got the game recently and if anyone wants to play some multiplayer later on reply or PM me. So far I'm having tons of fun.

Ages ago I played a whole lot of Space Empires V (back in a time when I was still learning English, so I understood like half of it) It was a buggy mess and I loved it.

Stellaris is everything I've wanted in a 4X game since then. Total war, Civ, many others have sort of done, but none has quite scratched that itch until now.

Also, I think there's 2-3 pony mods on the Steam Workshop so you can have avatars to match.

5377142 some one should do an equestria stellaris aar or a fic about the ponies in the galaxy maybe it could take place after season 6 with the characters from the show and ocs point of view like celestia luna cadance twilight being matriartch and or m6 and background ponies being governers and or ship captains maybe meet both human civs :)

5377077 I just wanted to add, Equestria has to be pacifist/xenophile/spiritualist, just because the xenophile/spiritualist greeting is 'Love is friendship set to music!' Which is so pony. :derpytongue2:
