Hurricane Ian: update · 6:19pm Oct 10th, 2022
Hey everybody, sorry for not making a blog post after the hurricane, I meant to do it the next day but I was busy and a bit lazy.
Anyway, I'm still alive obviously, the hurricane hit south of us so my city is mostly fine, Fort Myers got hit hard though.
The worst that happened was that there was a hunch of debris from trees, light flooding, and quite a few fallen palm trees. Power was out at my house for a few days but immediately recovered at my grandma's, so we hung out there for 2 days until our power was restored.
The hurricane itself wasn't as bad as I thought. We watched some movies and had some hamburgers (never seeing my uncle once) until the power finally went out, where we then listened to the radio for a bit until I went to bed, the next morning the power was back on.
All in all, we got lucky. Sucks for Fort Myers though, so send them your prayers/donations.
Anyway, I managed to go on vacation after the hurricane screwed it up, went on Friday and came back last afternoon. It was difficult trying to find someone to cover my schedule but I managed (I would've put in a request but the passes expire on the 15th so I genuinely didn't have a choice).
Do yeah, exciting 2 weeks. Regular updates should return, though I do need to edit and respond to readers.
