Factober #2 — The Blair Witch Project 🧙♀️ · 5:12pm Oct 2nd, 2022
At the time of release, people thought The Blair Witch Project was legit and that the actors in it actually died IRL.
Many viewers believed they were witnessing the final days of the stars. The mother of actress Heather Donahue actually received sympathy cards from concerned audience members...
It was a different time. 🥴
Looking back on it, I think we can all agree it was just a bad movie. Good lord, was it boring.
Dang, it kinda is really weird to think back and remember... that there was a time when we didn't immediately think everything was bull when we first heard it.
Same thing happened with Cannibal Holocaust; if I remember correctly, the director was arrested for supposedly making a snuff film.
There was a show on Discovery called Lost Tapes that was found footage of a bunch of cryptids and supernatural stuff. I admit I believed it was real too, for a bit. XD
Found footage stuff can be freaky.
I can understand that. I remember when we watched this in one of my classes in the 9th grade. I assumed before watching that it was fictional but after the movie ended, I couldn't help but ask a few classmates if that actually happened or not.

You be surprised. 😈
I was in college when this came out. I can tell you that only very gullible people thought this was real.
