Continuing (but rewriting) Resident Evil: Shire City · 6:45pm Sep 30th, 2022
Hello everyone that may be following this story! I was doing a little soul-searching and it led to me rekindling my interest in this fandom by revisiting old fanfics, videos, artwork, and songs I used to love.
Which made me consider revisiting this fanfic. At first, I wasn’t really sure about it. But after putting more and more thought into it, I thought I'd give it another go. However, from looking at what I wrote, I decided it would be best to rewrite the story from scratch. I have three main reasons for this.
1. Messy outline. The original outline (if you can call it that) focused on introducing many of my OCs. This would lead to a very messy story, as most of them didn’t have a real purpose to the plot. I will be purposefully introducing characters to serve the plot from now on. If you remember anything about the original version of this story, then you will notice that some characters will be missing. This is a good thing.
2. New source material. Originally, this story was planned to be a My Little Pony crossover with Resident Evil Outbreak. However, as great and underrated Outbreak is, I believe this would be another element that would lead to a messy and non-Resident Evil story of Rarity traveling from place to place in a city. It would essentially be a generic zombie apocalypse plot.
Now I’m gonna be using elements from the first three Resident Evil games for this crossover! But mainly RE2. I still have some usable Outbreak ideas though.
3. Focused perspective. This is Rarity’s story, so I will only show it from her own perspective unless the plot requires otherwise. Here’s hoping I can satisfy the five remaining Rarity fans if they happen to read my story. 
With that being said, I cannot promise that I will stick with this to the end. But after years of dealing with depression and writer's block in general, this project is something that makes me feel excited about actually writing something again.
The new first chapter will be published tomorrow. I hope you all enjoy it.
