Thank you everyone who's stayed with me through these two stories. It's quite the task getting these written with how distractible I am, but I find it really rewarding when I manage to get it done.
Why did you write this story?
Other than because I wanted to, I wanted a chance to hone my craft before I move on with the third book. Also, I couldn't get the idea of giving Spectrum a proper backstory along with the whole "Blossomforth is a changeling" thing that I sprung on you all during the first one out of my head.
Speaking of backstories, why haven't you told us more about Clover's past?
Clover's past is the sole focus of the third story. You'll also be finding out how he met Storm Chaser, Smokey Vines, and Ret Con.
How long until we can read the next story?
I don't know. Ideally, I wanted to be able to able to start posting chapters shortly after finishing this one, but life happens and I haven't made the time to sit down and really work on it.
I noticed you released these chapters a lot slower than before. How come?
"Return of the Ancient Mage" was fully written and the 50chapters were released on a daily basis. While "The Changeling's of Manehattan" were only released once a week to allow me the proper time to edit and make last second changes. Both methods have their own pros and cons, and we'll have to see what I end up deciding since the third book has the potential to be longer than the first story. In the case I end up doing rapid releases, I'll probably be looking for additional proofreaders. Sebastian99 has been doing a stellar job so far, but it would be nice to have additional sets of eyes to look over the drafts.
There were a lot more OC cameos this time.
Yes there were. While a lot of them were tied in just for fun, one or two of them are there for a reason and we'll likely see them again. If you'd like to see an OC you've created make an appearance, drop me a line.
How come you didn't have real cover art this time?
The first cover was actually draw up by my sister. However, with how busy everyone can get (like her with her new kid) and that this story was meant as more of a short intermission, it didn't seem worth the effort to see about getting something original for it.
I do plan on commissioning some art for the third one (it only seems right with how much I plan on putting into it), and while I have been scouting around DeviantArt for artists, if you have someone you'd like to recommend or if you'd be interested in doing it yourself, drop me a PM and we'll talk.
Are we going to see anymore from the 404 series?
Not really sure on that front. The 404 series was intended as more of a brain dump when I'm about to have a meltdown. I do have a few junk titles sitting on a doc. So, we'll see.
