My life is a bad sitcom. · 2:18am Aug 10th, 2022

So for the past seven months, one of my favorite past times has been watching tournaments in the Halo Championship Series, one of the very, very few things about Halo Infinite that hasn't sucked since November of last year.

One of my favorite underdog organizations is the Kansas City Pioneers. Their hometown crowd at HCS Kansas City in May was one of the loudest HCS crowds in history.

A month and a half ago, they announced that they didn't get partnered for official armor skins in Halo Infinite. I said "screw it, I'll do my part to support this team, I'll buy a custom jersey."

Just got it in the mail three days ago. It looks awesome. Has my Gamertag and name and everything.

Tomorrow, the Pioneers are releasing an official statement on why they are exiting the HCS.

That jersey was $60. My life is a bad sitcom, and this game has been an absolutely pathetic comedy of errors for the past eight months.

So... Back to writing about cartoon horses, I suppose.

Nah bro, is collectable now!

I mean, I won't lie; I know jack shit about eSports business. I've only been remotely interested in it this year, and just with Halo.

I heard a comment that claimed that too many partnered teams are what killed the Gears of War eSports scene.

I don't know. Until they release their official statement tomorrow, all we spectators can do is make guesses.

At the end of the day, we just want Infinite to be better. It's taking too damn long.

You should watch G4. They report on a lot of those competitions.

Well, if you look on the bright side, you could sell the jersey, or keep it as a collectable item. Maybe one day, it'll be rare and if you decide you'd rather not hang onto the memory, you can sell it. I have something similar, not for the same grief, but it's a collectable that I'm definitely keeping. You also could think of this as a good story to tell someone a few years later! As the song says, "100 bad days made a 100 good stories"

Oh I'm definitely hanging onto it (it's customized with my name and gamertag). It would just be nice if my fav team was actually competing.

I don't want to completely guess too much, but the KCP did things no other eSports organization did in promoting the HCS. I mean, they had a boot camp in the Royals baseball stadium. The Kansas City Major was easily one of the most energetic tournaments of the year.

If the organization put that kind of financial backing into promoting the HCS, and then didn't get partnered, yeah, I'd leave too.

The Pioneers Halo roster is trying to stick together and find a sponsor for the upcoming Major in Orlando.

I just find myself getting angry at upper management at 343 / Xbox / Microsoft. I'll repeat what I said in the blog; this game has been a comedy of errors, and it can all be blamed on decisions made by management.

I don't have cable. The HCS is on YouTube and Twitch. Other eSports titles haven't grabbed my attention. The HCS is seriously one of the best things about Halo Infinite. The absolute drip-feed of content has made everything else absolutely terrible.

Fair enough. I don't know enough about Halo and other video game companies to understand quite as much as you, but I can get the gist. I do know though, that when I'm upset or frustrated, channeling it into a story always helps. Even if no one ever reads it, it's nice to just put the energy out into the world, so then I don't have to hold onto it for any longer. I do that when I'm feeling positive emotions too, of course, but I tend to do that in order to share my joys, rather than just get it away from me

That's what I'm currently doing with the next Sunrise chapter!

Awesome! Good luck, and have fun!
