Alright.... art. · 11:42pm Aug 6th, 2022
So, I've heard a few times that I should look at getting some art or fanart done for my book. (Not a bad idea) But I don't know how that works. Do I go and ask someone to draw something? Will someone like my book enough that they will draw in their own time?? The whole idea sounds great to me, but I need a bit of help on this one. I'll be putting this same message in my Discord once I figure out what the hell my password was...

I say fan art or illustrated art, cause that would save a lot of money. For you in this case. If you see something that catches your eye and illustrates, then go for it.
You're best bet at finding a quality artist is to browse the wide selection of artists that you can find on Patreon, Deviantart, or even Furaffinity. Most artists will have a number of previous commissions available for viewing, or they will have a commission sheet with past works illustrating what the different costs will be. Some pieces- NSFW, Gore, attention to small detail, etc- will net additional charges, and some will charge more based on additional characters.
I would do plenty of homework before you just settle for any single artist however... as some will have better prices than others, and some will charge more for lesser quality work than someone that will charge less for higher quality work. Then there is the fact some artists prefer drawing furry, structures, and/or scenery, compared to other artists.
I personally have spent well over 1k on comms over the past few years... but there are some artists that would've charged me 3k+ for what my 1 artist has charged me. If you want her Discord name, DM me and I will go grab it. Likewise, if you want any examples of her work I've had done for me, DM me your discord ID.
Thanks all, I will have to take some time to think on this stuff, but I greatly appreciate the information and tips!
