5500 words down. Looking to get 7.5k out there, so not that long to go; expect the new chapter to finally emerge before the end of the month. It's effectively three short scenes tied together and not very intense, but after the last few chapters were pretty emotionally heavy and I stalled out from writing in general hardcore, I think some chill fluff is in order while everycreature on either side of the page gets their grooves back. I've slowly but surely built my momentum back up lately, so once it's out I promise not to fall over and die, again1
Mainly posting this so there's a modicum of accountability. Y'know, once we hit August 12th that's officially six months since chapter 20 and no updates by then hits the "dead fic" threshold which would be, you'll agree, the Worst! Possible!! Thing!!!
In the meantime I've been listening to a bunch of VNV Nation while writing lately. Yeah, corny as hell but it works for me. I kind of miss the 00s "futurepop" thing; I can count the number of things from the 2000s I'm nostalgic for on one hand, culturally it was kind of a crappy decade, but that's one of them. Also the song is relevant to the next chapter, kinda. Enjoy
1 I also have written 2.5k words of the first (NSFW!!!) ~Sexhaving Adventure~ in almost two years but stopped because I wanted to knuckle down on my main thing. Nothing's stopping me revisiting and finishing it later though! It wasn't going badly or anything, just, bleeeeeeeee uuuu pppphhh p
