Stories! So sweet and tasty!
Stories! Don't be too hasty!
Stories! Stories, stories, stories!
TheVulpineHero1's "Music Makes The Heart"
Synopsis: More experimental pony drabbles, this time focusing on Vinyl Scratch/DJ Pon3 and Octavia. This time with plot! R & R; all advice is welcome.
This is TheVulpineHero1's third consecutive appearance in my story recommendations, and that is not a coincidence. His stuff is wonderful, and his stuff is woefully under-reviewed. Right now, the only reviews on this story are ones that I've left, and this makes my heart sad. Here is another of his drabble sets, but this one has a single plotline threading through each drabble. It's especially interesting in that he's building his own characterizations independent of the fanon Scratch and fanon Tavi. His Vinyl Scratch, in particular, is very unique, a somewhat reticent and mysterious pony.
I am probably going to keep posting every new MLP fic that TheVulpineHero1 writes, because (1) so far, they've all been worth posting, and (2) he needs more love. GO GIVE HIM REVIEWS.
Synopsis: Twilight has decided that it's high time to figure out what's going on with Pinkie Pie, and there's only one way to do it!
This is a great little story that feels very sexy. Even though there's nothing explicit and very little even hinted at, the entire tone of the story is very steamy, very sensual. It's the more physical side of TwiPie, I'd say. Plus, you get to peer into the inside of Pinkie Pie's mind, and it's just about as chaotic and terrifying as you would imagine it'd be.
TwinkieSpy's "Both of the Four of Us"
Synopsis: Princess Luna must go on a diplomatic mission to the isolated city of Marem, and is tasked with choosing a suitable traveling partner to accompany her on the way. She does not choose the talented and magically-inclined Twilight Sparkle, nor the quick and loyal Rainbow Dash, nor even the strong and talented Applejack. Instead, she surprises everypony by taking Pinkie Pie with her and leaving without a word. Not even Celestia can guess the reasoning behind her sister's choice ...
Before this story, I hadn't ever really thought of how Luna and Pinkie's interactions would work (besides being humorous, 'cause Pinkie), but they just make so much SENSE in this story thus far. Luna and Pinkie are both emotionally damaged, in some similar ways, and even though the story isn't very far along, there's already been some really great scenes between the crazed baker and the Princess of the Night.
AbsoluteAnonymous' "Where You Can't Follow"
Synopsis: When an earth pony befriends a pegasus, there are some places they can't follow.
This is written by the same writer who brought you "The Games We Play." This story will break your heart. Nobody writes Pinkie angst like AbsoluteAnonymous does.
Oh sure, add to my pile unread stories to read by posting these recommendations...which I know are awesome because you recommended them.
(I'll probably check out the Both of the Four of Us first as I had been considering the idea of a Luna-Pie pairing, though this is another angle I really didn't think about.)
Heh. 'Man'.
You might get a bit of a shock coming to you, sir.
And damn, more stories to read now, on top of the updates... I'll never sleep again
Not like that's a problem, though.
Now now, your Pinkie angst is also absolutely brilliant. You're both wonderful at inflicting psychological torture on adorable ponies.
That's a compliment. I love your stories, and these sound good too. I shall read them later.
I like your singing, too. But you could have invited us to join in. I'm crushed.
I'd already read 'Where You Can't Follow' (sob!), but the other recommendations look to be right up my street too. Thanks for pointing them out!
