Howdy, hi, this is DaOtterGuy, and welcome to The Closet!
This will be a weekly Sunday Blog Posting to share and recommend my favourite LGBT+ fics on the site. The basic rules are that it has to be a story I've read, be LGBT-focused, and can't be my own.
This Sunday we have a rare pair Soarin x Sunburst in The Incredible Gravitational Pull of Canterlot Donut Shops by mushroompone!
This fic is the definition of a summertime romance (barring the obvious fact that it is, indeed, a romance set during the summer). The imagery and prose evoke all the trappings of a warm summer day and really nail the feeling of a summer crush. Sunburst's and Soarin's characterizations are top-notch and they both bounce off each other in a really enjoyable way. The banter just really sells their relationship and dynamic without needing to spell out explicitly in the text.
The entire fic has a cozy feel that permeates through every word. Mush has done an excellent job of having these two characters like each other through the little things. How they converse, how they feel, and even how they act all convey attraction without them needing to say it.
I definitely give this a recommendation for those looking for a rare pair MxM romance and looking for a cozy read to curl up into. Until next week, happy reading!
