Huh... · 2:33pm Dec 10th, 2012
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the new look... But what happened to the feature box? Why is it stuck on the front page now? What's the point? I spend about %99.99 of my time on my Dashboard, where I can't view the feature box. I'm assuming the same is true for many other users. So... I guess I don't need to worry about my stories hitting the feature box anymore... Not that I was going to make it on there with shit like "On The Rocks" Stuck there for the entire fuckin' weekend.
On the Rocks: Underneath a 3:1 like/dislike ratio
Archmage: Well over a 20:1 like/dislike ratio
On the Rocks: Last I checked, under 200 favorites
Archmage: Same, but over 300
On the Rocks: Last I checked, under 2k views
Archmage: Approaching 6k
On the Rocks: 4 slot in the feature box
Archmage: Last. For a half an hour
Yeah, that's fair. I know it's an automated system, but do they not have an admin keeping a fuckin' eye on that thing? Just to make sure that, you know, we don't get another "Princess for a President" featured for a week solid?
Oh, and, for those of you who don't write, here's a little something for you:
In the text editor, there is a prompt that reads "There is a bug that might cause you to lose your story data if you click 'save.' Be sure you have local backup content, or you might lose your work!"
Yeah.
Let's get with the program, fimfiction.
(Bitter blog is bitter. I'm tired, and relationship troubles. Felt like I needed to vent.)
Post-edit: They made it so you can change chapter order :D So that's pretty neat. I kinda wished there was a way to do that before, but since it wasn't a possibility, I didn't think too much into neat ways to exploit that system. Now that it's a possibility, I think we're going to see plenty of new stories that update with flashbacks, or maybe even start at the end and work back into the beginning. So that's a neat change.
With the ability to change the chapters, will you go about organizing ADKoL: Lost Chapter?
I dislike what they did with the feature box as well. Also, I dislike how you no longer get notified about when someone you follow posts a new blog.
FiMfic seems to be going the way of Facebook
594638 Are you sure about the 'you no longer get notified about when someone you follow posts a new blog.' ? Cause I went to sleep for 6 hours and came back to 12 notices, 10 of them being blogs; 2 of them being stories added to groups.
596676 that comment of mine was made before I started receiving the notifications again. So, whatever the issue was, it has been fixed. (thankfully)
