Hey, it looks like Gigantopithecus are sapient, like Kong. I wonder if we could interact with them like villagers from Minecraft, that would've been awesome.

I wish we could do more with them in-game. I would love to ride into battle with a sapient Giganto NPC. Granted, they're fairly smart in-game and are able to use various equipment and tools, but that's only when a player mounts them or actually gives the tools to them. They never display this intellect in the wild, which often disappointed me.
Granted, I do understand that it was likely game-developing limitations.
This story changes things, and there's a good reason for it, too. Rather than me just making them smart for no reason whatsoever.
