Figure I may as well whip up profiles for the rest of Gray and Ebony's family while I'm on today. Here's some background music while you read this. >^_^<
I'd like to make it clear real quick that I did not come up with these on the spot, at least not entirely. Gray's family as a whole has existed in my imagination since before Friendship is Magic first aired, so these are just ponified versions of my characters. Their basic personalities were developed between 2007 and now; what took work was adapting them to this setting and figuring out what their appearances would be like.
I know I said that I'd be working on profiles for the Midnight Castles, but they just don't feel like very interesting characters to me. Maybe if they end up playing a larger role in the future. We'll see.
Now then, for the meat and potatoes of this blog:
Name: Ocean Guard
Species: Male earth pony
Approximate Age: Forty years
Coloration: Green eyes, light brown coat, dark brown mane and tail
Cutie Mark: A white-and-red lifesaver.
Special Talent: Unknown
Accessories: Wears a whistle around his neck.
Approximate voice: Either 1990's-era David Hasselhoff or a close equivalent.
General Description: Has worked at a marina since he was an adolescent, keeping an eye out for anypony who falls into the water. One day he rescued Gray Ghost after she was injured dealing with a hostage situation, and the two were lovestruck almost as soon as they reached land; this rescue would lead to their eventual marriage, as well as Gray leaving the Royal Police to focus on her family. Is the oldest of three foals, the youngest of whom works with the Equestria Games Committee.
Name: Echo
Species: Mane Coon cat
Approximate Age: Three years
Coloration: Black fur, yellow-green eyes
Accessories: A red collar with his name and address.
General Description: The family's cat. Laidback, carefree, and enjoys the domesticated life. Some ponies belive that Gray picked up some of her habits from him, despite her practicing them long before he was adopted.
Name: Pure Energy
Species: Male earth pony
Approximate Age: Thirteen years
Coloration: Green eyes, burnt orange coat, light brown mane and tail
Cutie Mark: A question mark twisted into the shape of a spiral.
Special Talent: Unknown
Accessories: None.
Approximate Voice: I'm a bit conflicted on this one, but I'm thinking Tara Strong's voice for Ben Tennyson fits the bill.
General Description: Was named after a song released by the in-universe version of The Information Society. Energetic, noisy, and can't sit still. Tends to talk in non-sequiturs and references, or otherwise repeat himself. Serves as a balance to Fiver's dull attitude, hanging around her more often than with the others, and they care about each other even if the latter refuses to admit it.
Name: Fiver, short for "Five of a Kind"
Species: Female earth pony
Approximate Age: Eleven years
Coloration: Brown eyes, olive-colored coat, dark brown mane and tail with an almost indiscernible black stripe in each
Cutie Mark: Four aces and a joker card shaped to resemble a set of pointed teeth
Special talent: Unknown. Fiver received her Cutie Mark later than expected, so she is still exploring the depths of her ability.
Accessories: Wears a pink Alice-style hairband in her mane.
Approximate Voice: A younger Daria Morgendorffer.
General Description: The third of Gray Ghost's foals. Speaks very little. Initially this was due to some difficulty breathing she had in her early years, but this eventually shifted to just staying quiet for the sake of it. When she does speak, she deliberately prefaces her words with visible silence to make herself seem emotionless, which can unnerve those who don't know her. Is constantly lost in thought, and is the family's voice of reason when her father isn't around. Is a bit jealous of Zeke due to him getting all the attention that she used to.
Name: Zig-Zag. Alternatively, "Zeke".
Species: Male pegasus
Approximate Age: Eight years
Coloration: Orange eyes, light brown coat, black and orange mane and tail
Cutie Mark: None, though his parents feel he's close to getting it.
Special Talent: N/A
Accessories: None
Approximate Voice: I honestly have no idea. Your guess is as good as mine.
General Description: Loves everypony almost without exception. If they're even halfway decent in his eyes, they're getting a hug, and his parents are still working on teaching him that not everypony appreciates his behavior. Keeps his word count to a minimum; any sentences he speaks tend to consist of only three to four words at most. Doesn't always address those he meets by their names; even Ebony, the one he spends the most time around, is called "bugcatcher mare" more often than not.
