I was originally going to just make a joke blog where the TL;DR said "nothing" and that was it. Last week wasn't particularly productive, or interesting, to share with everyone. It doesn't help that I continue to find all sorts of ways to procrastinate. Have you ever just let youtube autoplay because Netflix is too many clicks away? Or skipped playing a video game because then you'd feel guilty for not writing?
Anyway, then Ikea happened...
Ikea
So I needed some furniture. I'm the kind of bacheleor who never quite finished unpacking from his last apartment move, and finds a container with a "best by 2012" expiration date on it. But to be fair, I'm pretty sure artificial sweetener doesn't expire, so I'm not too upset it took me 10 years to find it.
Anyway, so I go to Ikea because I only need a couple things. Simple, right?
No.
Ikea is like a maze for rats, only instead of one confused and lost rat, there's hundreds of them. Instead of proceeding in an orderly fashion towards the cheese, the rats are holding conversations, snapping selfies, and generally being up in my personal space. I don't mind small spaces, in fact I'm probably the opposite of claustrophobic. But being packed into small spaces with hundreds of people, the air's hot, sweaty, even if you wanted to leave good luck finding an exit from that dystopian Swedish hellscape...
Nope.
Anyway, I made it to like, section 8 and found one thing, then I had to hit up section like, 16 out of 24... then proceed to section 21 to get my items out of a warehouse. It was quite a trip. A trip that would have been better if you didn't have to walk through the entire maze. If only we had the technology to allow someone to proceed directly from the entrance to the section containing the furniture they want.
I'm seriously considering sending Dawn to an Ikea in Equestria, but even I'm not that sadistic.
Dash of Humanity
And now to the "same old" part of the blogs where I talk about the only thing I've done worth mentioning since like... October. Dash of Humanity 3! And... there's not much to say about it. I did make some revisions since I haven't been characterizing the antagonist consistently and clearly, just to chapter 13 presently. There's also a lot of requests to kill the antagonist over and over, and I think like a few comments for a cloptional chapter. So maybe I'll lie to myself to help me sleep at night and promise to totally start working on that soon...
I'm not sure what it is, but whatever it is, I'm still trying to work past my apparent "I don't wanna!" phase of Winter. I'm sure I'll get started writing again soon, I've already stuck around months longer than the last 3 or 4 times I tried to start writing again.
Other stories
And here's the part where I apologize again for the delay to the 2 stories I started in October, stories I started to right the wrong of never finishing them, and then I took a long holiday a few updates later. Well, fear not. I'm sure my regimen of wanting to eat healthy, exercise, and get plenty of sleep, will kick in soon and motivate me to resume writing. If that fails, it can only stay below 40 outside for so long before it warms up, I get more than 15 minutes of sunshine a week, and I start writing again. If that fails, then I've tried literally everything except actually trying, and my stories may remain forever unfinished.
Hitch / Izzy ship
I never did continue my series of Hitch/Izzy short stories, culminating in them dating. But you can check out Grinded Pony Hooves above! That and the Mayonnaise Incident were going to be part of a short story series about the two of them. It's another one of those things I sort of want to do, but not as much as I want to check reddit, and thus is has not been done yet.
Everfree Northwest
If I was going to go to a convention for MLP, this is the one it would be. So we'll see how the year goes and maybe I'll head up there to hang out with some people. It'll be fun to see the Gen 5 Voice Actors meet the unwashed masses, and reconnect with some old friends.
