In my opinion, “To Where and Back Again” is definitely an underrated episode. Not only is it the most original of MLP’s two-parters, but everything about the story was so well-done. It was a perfect lead-in for Starlight as a reformed character, and Chrysalis’s return genuinely felt like it happened for story purposes rather than based on her popularity.
The more I think about it, the more I’ve honestly found Chrysalis to be a particular reflection of what Starlight once was and what she currently wasn’t, only much worse.
