CROSSOVER KING

Sometimes, I remember it one way. Sometimes, another. If I am going to have a past, then I prefer it to be multiple choice.

My ranking of Harry Potter movies (from worst to best) · 1:24pm Mar 6th, 2023

I've been interested in checking out the "Harry Potter" movies for quite some time, but was never able to at all. My mother in particular has often told me that the movies promoted Satanism due to every character being a user of magic instead of just one or two, like in "The Sword in the Stone".

But, what do you think?

I mean no offense to your mother when I say this, but her words are not accurate in the slightest. While there is certainly religious symbolism in both the films and the books they were based on, none of them contain any signs of Satanism. In fact, the core themes in both versions of the story are a lot more general, such as love, death, honor, sacrifice, humanity, segregation, the power of knowledge, and the growth of oneself through trials and tribulations.

Also, even though the films do a pretty good job adapting the main synopsis and themes of the books, I also do suggest reading the source material so that you can better understand all the details regarding the lore and the development of most of the supporting cast.

That’s what I’ve been thinking, even on the grounds that I haven’t seen the movies or read the books. My mother once commented that the main reason for why she believes this is because there were tons of children who instantly wanted to learn how to do magic like Harry Potter & company, but in retrospect…I personally never viewed the series as something for children in the first place. From the trailers alone, I can tell that both the movies and books were clearly made for teens and adults, which would make a lot more sense considering they’d be too mature and scary for kids anyway.

Of course, whenever my parents get set on something, it’s over. There’s no talking them out of it. I’d love to read the books and movies, but I’m currently living in the same house as my parents, so I’ll have to wait until I find a place of my own someday.

The first three films can actually be suitable for children and definitely earn their PG rating, but the rest of the series are most certainly for teens and adults. The same can also be said for the books.

I really hope you find a residence of your own soon and start learning about this wonderful world of wizarding and adventure.

Thank you.

It probably won’t be for a while because there are things I still need to learn before doing so, but I appreciate your words of support.
