SuperPinkBrony12

I'm a brony and a Pinkie Pie fan but I like all of the mane six, as well as Spike. I hope to provide some entertaining and interesting fanfics for the Brony community.

    Episode Re-Review: Grannies Gone Wild

Well, Tell Your Tale finally decided to try to do something interesting, because the last episode showed Sunny's mom in a flashback. But they didn't even give her a name, let alone elaborate on what happened to her. And given the way Tell Your Tale progresses, I'm not expecting any follow-up anytime soon. Getting back to G4, Season 8 hit its first stumbling block only four episodes in, and the

Episode Re-Review: Fake It 'Til You Make It

Oh joy, it's back to Season 8. Season 9 has its fair share of detractors, but hardly anyone I know ever sings Season 8's praises, and for good reason. We now know that the School of Friendship was added at Hasbro's request because they wanted the show to wrap up with nine seasons, forcing the writers to change their plans for the pillars. About the only good thing to come out of Season 8 seems to

Special Re-Review: Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship

While we now know that this has to take place not just before Season 8 but before the events of the 2017 FiM movie, it first premiered in February of 2018, about a month before Season 8 of FiM hit the airwaves. Interestingly, the Discovery Family broadcast omitted several scenes that were later released as part of an "extended" version. As for the writer, it was none other than Nick Confalone,

    Episode Re-Review: Uncommon Bond

After the absolute disaster that was "Secrets and Pies", Season 7 really needed something to redeem it and give it the chance to go out on a high note, especially now that the big 2017 movie had come and gone, and the show's future was still uncertain. Josh Haber, after having returned to the story editor's chair and ultimately taking back the reigns fully from Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco

Q & A Followup (950 Followers) · 8:14pm Dec 21st, 2021

Here we go again. You asked your questions and now it's time for me to give my responses. Hope they're to your liking. And thanks again to everyone who has followed me. I never imagined I would get this far, and I'm honored to have written stories that so many of you enjoy.

First up is Bronycommander who asks the following:

if all ponies, which one was the one you wanted to write the most stories of?

And, got any favorite parodiy mlp created?

Well, as my profile name might suggest, Pinkie Pie was the one I wanted to write stories for the most since she was (and still is) my favorite mane six member. In fact, my very first fanfic involved her, though it was written from the first person (pony) perspective. And as for favorite parody, discounting the various abridged series I think my favorite parody would have to be the epic X time series and the Two Best Sisters Play videos (though I'm not sure how much of a parody that is when it's using the audio from the original source material).

Next is Comickook, a long time supporter and suggestor for ideas related most often to my "What If?" series, but also sometimes my other fics. And he asks:

Any plans for a fourth Spider-Mare story (given next year is 2022, which would be Spider-Man's 60th birthday in August)? I mean, beyond, obviously, Starlight as the Lizard?

2. A few of the stories you will be including in the next volume of your What If? series.

and 3. Any possibility of a future Equestria Girls story using human counterparts to the G5 characters after Sunset has taken over as Principal of Canterlot High?

1. I wasn't originally, but now knowing about the anniversary I think it's about time to have another Spider-Mare story. I do indeed intend to have Starlight as the Lizard, though I'm also including (spoilers!): The return of the Green Griffon a.k.a the Gilda clone, a changeling impostor similar to the plot of the 2000 Spider-Man video game by Neversoft, and a plot I believe was only in Spider-Man The Animated Series: The mutant man (or pony in this case)spider. There is also going to be something involving Aunt Suzanne, though what that is I refuse to spoil. 2. As of now, the next volume will have twelve episodes, among them will be redos of "Every Little Thing She Does" based on a suggestion from a fan review and "Where The Apple Lies" based on confirmed leaks about a scrapped episode involving filly Applejack and filly Rarity with a similar story, the two parters "Friendship is Magic" and "To Where and Back Again" with the latter of them changing the plot so only Twilight is abducted along with Flurry Heart but the other royal family members are busy dealing with an attack on the Crystal Empire (it's a diversion), "Amending Fences", the suggested alternative avenue for "Horse Play" given my rewriting of "A Royal Problem" and "A Horse Shoe-In" which will change focus to Trixie challenging Twilight to another magic duel. 3. I don't think so seeing as G5 takes place far into the future, presumably after Twilight is long dead and her legacy has been forgotten. I don't think the same would work with Sunset Shimmer in the human world, regardless of her role.

A newcomer to the pony fanfiction scene by the name of The Background Conqurer asks:

1. Will Equestria Games and Uncommon Bond be featured in the next What If volume?

2. If Equestria Games and Uncommon Bond get written, how will its characters be handled?

3. Will there be any more recruits for the Legion of Doom in your What If Season 9 stories?

4. Which villains did you enjoy writing the most?

5. Will there be a My Little Pony: The Movie (2017) What If story in the future?

6. If a My Little Pony: The Movie (2017) What If story gets written, how will Twilight get handled during the journey since she was losing trust in friendship?

7. If a My Little Pony: The Movie (2017) What If story gets written, will Spike be a seadragon instead of a pufferfish as shown from the Behind the Scenes book since those like myself didn't like how he was portrayed as the butt-monkey of that moment?

1. No, those are currently on the backburner for episodes to be rewritten. 2. As of right now I can't say for certain, though I do know that for the former I would cut the scene of Spike trying to sing the Cloudsdale Anthem and just have him apologize for the mix-up, it would accomplish the same detail of making him feel embarrassed without delving into cringe comedy territory. And for the latter I'd probably make Sunburst a little bit more aware of how he's hurting Starlight's feelings by unintentionally ignoring her, probably have him apologize after the age spell gets undone only for Starlight to run off in shame and regret. 3. Yes, it will be explained when I inevitably get to "The Ending of the End" rewrite that Grogar's long absence from "The Summer Sun Celebration" onwards was him recruiting more evil doers into his ranks: Including Lightning Dust, Wind Ryder, Suri Polomare and Prince Blueblood. 4. Definitely King Sombra since there's an opportunity to flesh him out and do more with him than what the show did, as well as Queen Chrysalis given how she was arguably the one thing that kept the original Legion of Doom from reforming, making her perhaps the most evil of all the villains. 5. Maybe, maybe not, I haven't really given thought to doing it but I also haven't ruled out doing it some day. 6. I would have her apologize for the incident in Seaquestria even while she insists she had no choice, and I would have her willingly surrender to Tempest in the ensuing ambush on the beach in exchange for her friends being allowed to go free. I would devote more time to her struggles, showing how each betrayal or setback undermines her confidence as she sees Tempest drawing closer and closer. 7. Yes, he most definitely will be. There's no real reason why he had to be a pufferfish. I guess maybe they didn't wanna get sued by Pokemon for ripping off Sedra or Kingdra, but they're based on real life seahorses so using that as a base for Spike seems reasonable.

And finally, BronyRanger asks the most questions of everyone in this session. And they are as follows:

1. If the voice cast for My Little Pony: A New Generation get replaced with Vancouver actors for the TV series, who would you like to see play which character?
2. Follow-up to #1: Had Kirby Morrow not passed away last year, do you think he would've made a good substitute for James Marsden as Hitch?
3. Do you plan on writing a Starswirl x Mistmane and/or Flash Magnus x Somnambula romance fanfic like you did with Rockhoof x Mage Meadowbrook?
4. Sunset Shimmer's best villain moment and worst hero moment in your opinion?
5. Who do you ship with Hitch the most?
6. Thoughts on the current Power Rangers season, Dino Fury, so far?
7. Follow up to #6: Favorite dinosaur-themed Power Rangers team suit design?
8. Most overrated and underrated Christmas movie/special in your opinion?
9. How do you personally feel about Idol anime?
10. Favorite and least favorite adult cartoon series at the moment?

1. That's a tough call. I guess the cast would be as follows, trying to have them at least emulate the movie performances: Rebecca Shoichet as Sunny Starscout, Kelly Sheridan as Izzy Moonbow, Michael Dobson as Hitch Trailblazer, Chiara Zanni as Zipp Storm, Cathy Wesluck as Pipp Petals, Vincent Tong as Sprout, Taibtha St. Germain as Phyillis, Chantel Strand as Queen Haven, Alvin Sanders as Alphabittle and Brian Drummond as Argyle. I really wouldn't want to reuse the mane six's VAs and would try to avoid typecasting (Vincent Tong would be more for the possibility that Sprout will become the sixth ranger of the G5 main cast, undergoing a possible redemption like is currently being rumored). 2. Maybe for young Hitch, but probably not for fully grown-up Hitch. As it is, assuming we had flashbacks with a Vancouver cast, Andrew Francis could probably fill the role for young Hitch seeing as he's been cast to voice Cole in the Ninjago series after Kirby Morrow's death. Young Sunny would probably be voiced by Andrea Libman, young Sprout would be voiced by Ian Hanlin, young Izzy would be voiced by Annick Obansawin, young Zipp would be voiced by Kelly Metzeger and young Pipp would be voiced by Shanon Chan-Kent. 3. Maybe next year I'll do a Flash MagnusxSomnambula shipping story, but I don't think I'll ever do a StarswirlxMistmane story. Part of the reason why I wrote the RockhoofxMeadowbrook story is because of the chemistry they shared in the comics, similar to what inspired me to write a ship fic involving Stygian and Somnambula. There wasn't much in the comics to suggest any kind of chemistry between the two pegasi pillars and certainly nothing to indicate chemistry between Starswirl and Mistmane. Plus, shipping with Mistmane would be kind of tricky and awkward due to her physical age likely being different from her actual age. 4. Her best villain moment was probably putting on the crown and transforming into the Shedemon, it really doesn't seem like something she'd planned on doing even if she intended to eventually brainwash all of Canterlot High to use as leverage against Princess Celestia and/or Equestria. And her worst hero moment was probably teasing Sci-Twi about Timber Spruce when they were alone in the tent. Given not only that Timber might not reciprocate Sci-Twi's feelings and the potential problem with the difference in age between the two (Timber could potentially be 16 or 17, but more likely he's at least in his 20's if he's been a counselor for a few years, whereas Sci-Twi is unlikely to be above 15 or 16, which depending on where in the world all this is taking place could be illegal), but given that Sunset in her bad girl days was just using Flash Sentry until he broke up with her (and hasn't really paid much attention to him since reforming) she really isn't one to talk (the things she did during the memory stone incident don't count since she wasn't really a hero or a villain, she was more of an anti-hero blurring the line). 5. The only one I ship Hitch with at the moment is Sunny since they have chemistry and history due to the whole childhood friend angle, which does sometimes lead to romantic attraction. And I could see Hitch secretly doing what he did throughout the movie because he wanted to protect Sunny, thinking that it would be safer if he arrested her and brought her back to Maritime Bay rather than if she were to be caught by the pegasi or the unicorns. None of the other main characters seem like they would match up well with him: Izzy is too chaotic for Hitch to keep up with, not to mention he probably resents her for not telling him sooner about his missing badge. Zipp doesn't have anything that would really attract her to Hitch or the other way around. Pipp is too self-centered, far more than Hitch ever was. And the less said about Hitch and Sprout the better given that Sprout wasn't a very good deputy, and the well was probably poisoned a good deal about Sprout taking over in Hitch's absence. 6. Frankly, I'm disappointed. It had the potential to be the next In-Space given its similarities with an alien red ranger who is believed to be the lone survivor of his people, and who potentially may have lost his team in battle long ago. Plus, the sporax beasts presented an opportunity for a "Gotta catch 'em all" plot that we'd never seen in Power Rangers before and a chance to do right what Operation Overdrive failed to do: Have a team of heroes and a team of villains competing for the same goal but for different reasons. Heck, when it was revealed that Void Knight wanted to use the sporax beasts to power up a machine to restore his wife kept in cryogenic storage ala Mr. Freeze style, there was potential to make Void Knight into a more complex villain or even a tragic villain. But they went nowhere with any of these plot points, conflicts were brought up and resolved too quickly to have any real investment even though Beast Morphers was a noticeable improvement in that regard, the attempted nods to previous seasons with the Nexus Prisma and the return of Lord Zedd were pointless because nothing came of them after their respective episodes, and the last two episodes felt like they had to shoehorn in a climax and then at the very end hit the reset button in one of the most insulting ways. I've no interest in Season 2 even if they could improve on these aspects, because they failed to get me invested or interested in anything during the first season. Maybe some of this can still be chalked up to the contract with Nick which should be terminated, but at this point I think it's clear to me that the Power Rangers franchise is one that remains stuck in the past: Trying to lure back old fans with appeals to nostalgia while trying to appeal to today's kids with their notoriously short attention spans. But at this point, I think they should commit to one or the other instead of trying to appease both. If they're going to stay on Nick they need to go in all on the appeal to kids and create a new generation of fans, and if they're going to make the franchise available solely on streaming services like Netflix then they need to adopt higher standards in order to harpen back to the writing of the franchise's silver years from 1998 to 2002 and even the beginning and end of the bronze years from 2003 to 2005 and then 2008 to 2009. Plus, they really need to stop picking Sentai seasons with the same themes like dinosaurs and road vehicles and give the spotlight to more creative Sentai seasons (such as the train based one, or even some of the pre Mighty Morphin' ones). 7.: Probably the Dino Thunder suits. I just love the little bronze and white (or black in the White Ranger's case) trim, along with the lines that look like teeth marks. And of course there's the logo on the front of the suits that resembles a dinosaur footprint. Not to mention the Super Dino Modes for all five Rangers, the first such team based power-up since the Lights of Orion in Lost Galaxy (the Mega Battle Armor in Lightspeed Rescue was only applied to the blue and green rangers, the yellow and pink rangers didn't get anything). 8. For overrated I think I would have to give it to Frosty Returns from 1992, which CBS insists on airing every year alongside the original 1969 Frosty the Snowman. Frosty Returns is a product of its time and can't hope to hold a candle to the timeless appeal of the original Rankin/Bass animated special. On its own its harmless, the animation in particular being a big stand out since it was done by the same person responsible for animating the Peanuts specials. But it really would be better off airing on its own. As for underrated, I'd give it to Rankin/Bass' first animated Christmas special Cricket on the Hearth which is based on the Charles Dickens novel of the same name. It does take more than a few creative liberties with the story, noticeably omitting some of the characters from the novel and adding in these extra talking animals, and the animation is considerably cheaper compared to Frosty the Snowman which came out just two years later. Not to mention the songs for the most part are pretty flat. But I find there's enough of that Rankin/Bass charm to consider it one of their better works, largely due to the legendary Paul Frees' voice work as most of the male characters and Roddy McDowall as the cricket (it was actually his first ever voice acting role). It's also surprisingly dark, with Bertha Plumber going blind from the shock and grief of believing her intended died in a shipwreck, and some of the animals being shot and presumably killed by the boat captain after they deliver the cricket to him (foreshadowing the surprisingly dark backstory for Aaron in The Little Drummer Boy when his parents are murdered by bandits, and to a lesser extent Frosty's death in Frosty the Snowman even though we don't see it directly and he's soon brought back to life). 9. I've never heard of it before, so I have no feelings one way or the other for it. 10. My favorite still remains the Netflix original series Bojack Horseman, which ran for six seasons between 2014 and 2020. What started out as what seemed like yet another shameless The Simpsons/Family Guy clone turned into a deconstruction of sitcom tropes and truly blazed a new trail in regards to character development, continuity and redemption arcs. Rick and Morty is a strong second place, though Season 5 has shown that it's a coin flip from episode to episode whether we'll get something truly inspiring or something insultingly low effort. And on the subject of low effort, my least favorite is without a doubt the two biggest offenders that continue to contribute to the stereotypes plaguing adult animation to this day: The Simpsons and Family Guy. The former because it is the show that refuses to die despite the fact that it is basically a living corpse at this point, it hasn't been relevant outside of maybe one or two instances in the past decade and yet it seems that even the death or departure of long time talent can't stop it, they'll just write out characters or recast roles as if nothing ever happened. And the latter because it continues to try and find new lows to which it can sink in order to offend people, because that's all it knows how to do. It thinks that if it can shock, offend and disgust people without thought that it'll draw attention. And it never seems to care that when it does it's always for the wrong reasons, often just serving as a soapbox for Seth MacFarlane to push his views regardless of whether anyone else cares or not. It's sad because both shows still do have their fans who have endured betrayal after betrayal and disappointment after disappointment. Yet no matter how hard these shows beg for death, Fox and now Disney refuse to grant them it. The only good thing to come of them is that they serve as a warning to others of what happens if your show doesn't end at some point, eventually it will become an empty shell with nothing left to offer.

And there you have it, hope the answers are to your liking. The next Q & A Session will probably not be until April when I celebrate the anniversary of my account's creation (it'll have been ten years in 2022), unless I somehow hit 1,000 followers before then.
