WELP.
I didn't even bother signing up for NaNoWriMo this year. These days I find myself returning home from my Real People Job without the brainpower to produce more than a paragraph or two (on a good night!), much less the 1667 words daily to hit the arbitrary 50k mark.
But I've been trying to at least do something, I guess? A friend of mine is taking a look at my big sprawling Non Pony Fantasy Novel(tm), so as I wait for a draft to come back absolutely covered in notes and corrections and what have you, I went ahead and went back to writing some silly Flash Sentry stuff, 'cause I should probably finish this story eventually, dangit.
That I dropped a chapter just as Raleigh updated the Blueblood Papers is, I should note, entirely coincidental. That dude's a lot more prolific than I am, and draws a bit more from the Ciaphas Cain/40k well than I do. Which is fine! I should probably get around to reading his stuff at some point, but ... again. Real People Job, time, etc.
So yeah. The latest chapter of From Yakyakistan, With Love is mostly setup interspersed with some shameless gags-- though I've got even MORE shameless gags and stupid references to make in upcoming chapters, so that's something to look forward to, right? Just a matter of, well, sitting down in front of the keyboard and writing it, which is far easier said than done. And, y'know, I'm theoretically gonna write something for Jinglemas this year, so yaaay.
Still, stay tuned! I'll finish the story ... eventually! Encouraging comments may even prompt me to write something slightly faster! Gotta chase the tiny dopamine rush from the little alert-icon thing, y'know.
Good to hear progress continues on the NPFN™. Hope your current editor has more discerning tastes than I do. (I always worry I'm not picky enough for this sort of thing...
