Another Health Problem · 3:25pm Nov 8th, 2021
Doesn't seem like life's going to let my, well, life, be easy. Yesterday at three in the morning, I woke up with a clogged ear and a ringing in it. No idea why, no reason that I can find. I've managed to go to sleep after walking around a bit, but the stuffiness in the ear persisted. It's much better now after I got some ear drops to help me with that, but the ringing is still there. It's very annoying, messes with my concentration.
If it doesn't disappear soon, I'll try to get an appointment with the doctor, and that would be... something. Covid fucked up Russian healthcare even more, so the waiting times are pretty bad, and doctor availability isn't great either.
Sometimes, I wish I've been more healthy. It's not like I can't help it at all, but my parents left me really unprepared and neglected in this. I hope none of you are experiencing such problems.
On a brighter note, I'm waiting for Rockstar to release their GTA Definitive Edition. It'll help me take my mind off things, especially since I've been wanting to replay GTA 3 and Vice City recently, having actually replayed GTA San Andreas just prior to the announcement. I think it would definitely help me with my mood.
I've had a similar problem with wax build-up; both times, hydrogen peroxide cleared it up. Just ten drops in the affected ear, let it sit for a full minute, and make sure you've got a tissue or paper towel against your ear when you empty it out.

I got special ear drops because peroxide wasn't helping, plus I used a tool to spray stuff in the ear to really clear it out. It's better, but the annoying ringing is still there. I don't mind feeling stuffy in the ear, but this... very hard to ignore.

I've had trouble with ear clogging in the recent past, I believe it was wax build-up in the tubes meant to regulate sinus pressure. The ringing could also be tinnitus, which might not be good, but idk what causes it outside injury.
Damn. I hope you get better Elu. I've had ringing in my ears happen sometimes, but definitely not that bad. Here's hopes to your ear getting better soon!
I'm sure you know this, but don't use q tips. Also, ear drops take a LONG time to clear out, at least in my experience. Way longer than what the package says. They're still good.
I've had tinnitus for four years. One day my ears just clogged. I remember the exact moment it happened.
Doctors can safely clear your ear wax and it will help.
Hope everything goes well!

It became better after the ear drops and some sleep. It's not clogged anymore, at least.

I've never used q-tips and I've known for a long time not to use them inside the ear. Anyway, it did get better after I got some drops in and cleaned my ear with some warm water. The ringing was pretty loud when I went to sleep, but it's much better now, barely noticeable, and I can tolerate it. I'll take the ear drops tomorrow if the ringing doesn't stop after I go to sleep today, but I hope it won't be necessary.

Oh good, glad for the progress.
