It has been over a year since my last post here of any kind, apparently. I just haven't really had much to post about, and I've been largely busy elsewhere with other things.
I swear I will still be writing something to post properly on this account, at some point, but I don't want to rush it. You can't rush PinkieDash, ironically I suppose.
There is obviously a reason I'm breaking the silence, aside from just saying hi to everyone else who for one reason or another has decided to follow (including the writer I stole based the name and bio of this account on). Though it's kind of a selfish one, I guess? Then again, maybe that's expected with blogs.
I am here to give... a shoutout? Publicity, as little as I can with the limited reach of this account? To a game coming out soon. Very soon, as you can see by the date in the trailer.
It's not a game I have anything to do with directly, but it is a project I've been following closely for a while. Since it was first announced in any capacity, actually. See, the creator of this game (and everything in it aside from the music, all art is his work), Mateusz Skutnik (game designer, comic book artist, and also a confirmed brony), also happens to be the one behind the (in my opinion) criminally underappreciated and not nearly as popular as it deserves to be Submachine series (which will also get a complete remake next year or so, and you bet I'll make a blog when that comes out too).
And that series holds a really, really special place in my heart. Aside from just the art and gameplay, the writing and general aesthetic of that world have been extremely influential to my own style, and I just absolutely adore that whole narrative universe. I sincerely encourage everyone to wishlist the upcoming remake / compilation on Steam.
So of course, when I learned the artist behind it (and a few other things, I may mainly be a Submachine fan but all his other works are worth checking out) was planning to work on a full scale game, I was immediately on board with the idea and excited for it.
And now that it's finished and we finally have a date for it (and it's so close), well... I feel like I just want to do my part in getting the word out there, I guess. This game isn't really backed up by a publisher like some other indie games (some of which worse than this one I'm sorry Mono but no Annapurna has put out a couple of bad things too), and it's a single person project by the man behind one of my favourite pieces of media of all time, and before I started fangirling about it outright I might want to stop here. But I just want word of it to be out there. So I'm doing my part.
Of course, you can't judge something before experiencing it, but it really might be something special (and at least visually it's almost guaranteed to be), and it would not sit right with me if it didn't get a chance to be more widely known by people in the first place. I've seen how much Mateusz's games have continuously improved with each subsequent work of his, and this seems to be the culmination of all that and years of work. It's not fair to ask others to also spread news about it, but I just wanted to make more people aware of it, and maybe push them to check it out.
I guess that ends the blog then. Sorry for the self indulgence. Though on an alt fully dedicated to my OTP, I guess that isn't the worst of it. I'll have more to blog soon, actually, I've recently started a new DnD campaign and I've decided to try to keep blogs as a diary of sorts. Hopefully that won't fill your feeds with too much spam.
So, uh, yeah, that's it I guess. Check out SoS when it comes out if you want to, have a good day and week, ship some colourful equines, try to be a nice person to others and stuff. I'll be around.
If there isn't an author named Achromatic dedicated to Appleshy, the symmetric perfectionist in me will be very disappointed.

Be the change you want to see on the site. Or find someone else willing to be it for you. But yes, it definitely would feel appropriate. More so once I actually start to post things here that aren't just blogs.
