More contest entries!

Hello everyone reading this! If you're following my page, you've probably seen my latest batch of stories written for the M/M contest! My latest, of course, is a relatively quick read - A Himbo Too Far! (I'm not very good at being shortwinded, it seems!) There's even more coming - at the moment, I have TWO fics sitting around 12k in my docs, waiting to be finished and published! GAH! (One is the zebra and batpony story!) Every time I sit down to write, they just get longer and longer!

This got a little long, but tl;dr, I'm still writing up a storm! I hope you guys will enjoy my upcoming stories!

I love writing M/M stories, although you wouldn't know it from my page! For the past few years, the only stories I publish have been for contests, especially the EFNW contest, which typically doesn't trend towards LGBTQ+ themes, nor is OC friendly. I write very show-based type stories for that, because I figure that's what contest runners want to see! (Not to say that LGBTQ+ themes shouldn't be considered okay for the show.) So now that there's a clear place to share M/M fics, as well as the potential to be rewarded and receive nice feedback for it, then I'm definitely (pardon the pony pun) champing at the bit to take part!

I'm trying to think of how to say this, but unfortunately even in 2021 we are still dealing with some of the nasty, backwards attitudes that the fandom had even in 2010. I'm sad to say that I've witnessed it firsthand, the way that M/M fics will often be downvoted, or simply ignored, especially in favor of the het or F/F stories. Some of that is cropping up in regards to the M/M story contest; even the notification that my entry was accepted into the contest received a downvote, which doesn't even make sense. I can understand someone downvoting if they do not like my prose or grammar, but that clearly isn't what's happening.

As depressing as it is, I must say that this kind of thing only spurs me to write more M/M stories. There's something to be said for 'fueled by spite', added in the fact that I love this genre, as well as the fact that the contest runner Bicyclette has been very kind to me! I would like to see her contest do well, and so I will do what I can to help that happen! In this case, writing about many silly stallions kissing each other! It's a tough job ... but somepony's gotta do it!

Anyway, thanks for reading my rambling, I'm also going to try and get in an entry for the Sunset Shimmer Squared contest at some point in the next couple weeks! But that's gonna necessitate me watching more of the Equestria Girls movies! If you guys see any contests you think I should enter, lemme know! Or just say hi, that's fine too!
