I just bought and received after weeks of waiting a Pokémon Red Version GB cartridge off of Amazon and I’m already beginning to think it’s a repro (reproduction):
1. It doesn’t work on my Transfer Pak for Pokémon Stadium on N64.
2. When I catch Pokémon, nickname them, and they end up in the PC, the names are either gone or glitched out.
I don’t know what to do with it, and I searched everywhere for a genuine cart, but they’re too expensive for me.
*sigh* Oh well…I’ll deal with it, but I sure as hell won’t be buying another repro cart.
So, I’m falling back on my backup plan; buying Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist for the Nintendo Switch.

Defiantly is a reproduction, but a poor one it seems. My bet is that either the internal hardware is faulty, or the game program itself was buggy or corrupted upon install. If it was downloaded online then odds are it's most likely the rom file the seller has was either infected or corrupted.

Most are. From personal experience, the fakes ones will average anywhere from $15-$20 while the originals all are closer to $60 or more.

Sounds like you got a hacked or modded cartridge sorry to hear that honestly i think you should've bought Pokémon Red from the nintendo store on your 3DS or your Switch if you have either you probably would've paid the same price or cheaper for a digital copy straight from Nintendo. Sorry about your rotten luck though

I understand i'm guessing you are talking about the N64 version of Pokémon Stadium you do need the link cable for the GB version of Pokémon Red to transfer your team from the Cartridge to the game. It's not like the GameCube version of Pokémon Stadium where you can transer your team from a digital copy of the game of Pokémon Red to your GameCube via an IR link between a DS or 3DS and GameCube
