The Israel/Gaza Situation Has Me Broken

Ignore if you hate this topic. I avoid social media, and I'd rather rant here than the hellhole that is Twitter :rainbowlaugh:

    Already on Step 4

Check this out if you have zero clue what I'm talking about haha.

Did bodyweight squats in front of my physical therapist, and they were good!! Super smooth, great range of motion, and zero tightness for the first few sets. This puts me on step 4 out of 5.

Plan to Cross the Finish Line

Gameplan my physical therapist and I made to overcome my joint issues once and for all. I'd say I'm 90% there, so here is the plan for the last 10%. Primary remaining issue is the left hip weakness causing me to shift much of my weight onto the right hip, which also causes my entire trunk/upper body to twist to compensate for the lean. This messes up my shoulder blade movement as well, leading to

Can Almost See the Light at the End of the Tunnel

After almost a full decade of pain affecting my waking hours, sleep, ability to exercise, and ability to just have fun, I'm almost done!!!!

I define me being done as: Being able to exercise, sleep, stand, sit, lie down, and walk with no pain, instability, or unevenness. It's hard to put a number on a goal like this, but I'd say I'm 85% there.

    Almost Done Beating Genetics

Ughhhhhh why can't I be 100% done, though :raritydespair:

Alright, so despite basically every joint having issues at first, I can minimize the major starting issues to:
    - Right hip tear + instability
    - Left hip tear + instability
    - Left shoulder instability
    - Right shoulder instability

The two bolded ones were the biggest issues. As of now, I have:

Oh Yeah, Drawing Exists · 4:04am Aug 22nd, 2021

It's been a while since I made a drawing post. I'm away from my sketchbook, so I can't show any drawings. However, for a quick rundown of what I've been up to:

1. I FINALLY got the hang of drawing heads at various rotations and camera angles. At first, I used balls for the head, and then the Loomis Method. However, both required a fair amount of intuition, of which I have none. I am an IDIOT when it comes to art haha. Taking a tip from a Manga artist, I then used boxes to determine the orientation of the head. I'll show examples later, but this makes it soooooooo easy for a dumb dumb like me.

And once I learned the basics of camera angles, I was able to create all types of heads. Looking straight up from below? Done! Looking downward at a 45 degree angle and to the left at a 30 degree angle while halfway above the horizon line? Done!!! Seriously, it sounds complicated, but perspective + boxes makes this so easy.

2. The boxes make drawing bodies at various rotations and camera angles easy too. Using a cylinder to contain the body also works too once you get the hang of perspective. To demonstrate what I'm talking about: A pony looking up from below would look different than one looking up from above you. Different parts of the body show based on the camera angle, and boxes help with this immensely.

3. I finally don't suck with curves haha. Wheels, flowers, plants, domes, cylindrical shapes, and other circular shapes are pretty simple once you get the hang of perspective. And, as always, boxes and squares/rectangles make this much simpler to handle.

4. Diagonals: I don't know why this was so hard lol. Well, I actually do. Diagonals at extreme camera angles are super tricky.

5. Edits: I also learned basic form-building to construct stuff like cars, rocket ships, and other stuff that can't be constructed from boxes. For example, making a Jeep from a box is simple. A missle? Not so much.

I'm pretty sure I learned more, but I just got back from a long California vacation and I'm super sleepy haha.
.....

Genetics related? Uhhh... I can do one arm push-ups now on low countertops @ 222lbs. Remember, last April my joints prevented me from doing two-arm wall push ups super close to the wall at like 186 lbs. I'm also randomly jumping up multiple stairs at a time, since I need to regain my pre-injury athleticism back. The fact that I'm 6'2 and can't dunk a basketball is a disgrace haha. What good is having muscle if you can't move your own body through space?

Also, Death Valley has mountain lions, and I visited it when it was 123 degrees. Typical of me :rainbowlaugh:

I need to try the trick with the boxes. I never even knew that you could do that.

Here's an example of what I mean:

Note that the heads aren't rotating up or down. Instead, the camera angle is moving from below the head, to in front of it, to above it.

Yeah, I reallyneed to try this. Thanks for the tips!
