    Update: Bring the Dawn #1

Heya all! For those not incredibly interested in writings outside of ponies, this may still interest you. I'd like to introduce Bring the Dawn, my own original IP I've been working partly on for the last few months, until my motivation pool dried up after having to fresh restart at the very beginning.

Verve's Final Chapter: A Warm Hearth (6.7k Characters)

I'm less than happy to admit that the story is finally over. There's nowhere else to go. The final chapter, no longer left to the stars - but here, uploaded, written, softly edited, and complete with fitting music and pictures of Vee.

    Bring the Dawn!

Heya!~ If you're reading this post, you either do or don't know that I've been working on a novel for a bit. A lot of you may know that I'm a fast author. I typically write out 2-3 chapters a day, when I have the mood and energy to do so. Which, for Verve and Inertia, I had for... two months straight.

Bad News/Good News~ · 11:28am Aug 13th, 2021

Heya everypony! If you're reading this little update, I've got some bad news and some good news.

Let's start off with the bad news, as it's the most important.

The motherboard on my laptop decided now would be a great time to catch fire. Unfortunately for me, this specific motherboard is for an overly expensive gaming laptop - wonderful, right? So a replacement is not only hard to come by, but extremely expensive. $650! That's over half the price of the actual laptop.

The good news! Not all is lost. I bought a temporary $120 Chromebook to keep writing, but it's so much slower than I'd like. And a pain on the eyes, as it's basically stuck in Bright mode (some fiddling did help, though!) And the replacement writing application I'm using is basically a glorified notepad with an inability to use writing shortcuts. (No Control+Backspace to delete a word, no Shift+I to quickly use italics). But! I can still write. It's just going to be an even slower grind than before.

On top of that, I still have 8.5 of the 10 chapters I've finished saved through Discord. Those are just going to help me look back, as the more refined copies are basically on my SSD, which I need a special adapter to access. I have a proper storyboard written on what I want, and while at times it feels like I'm skipping too much (I say this with three days taking several chapters) I'm trying to shoot for consistency.

The entire events of Verve are seemingly going to rival the length of Inertia, and I've got motivations in spades, and time in spoonfuls. Hopefully I'll have a little more time in the future.

I'm actually kinda anxious, too! My own OC makes an appearance, as a side character simply by association of a main character. Fortunately, I don't have the nerve to write the story around her. (Refer to my avatar to see what she looks like.) It's kinda like sticking yourself in the story, in a way - and I wrote Arin to be attractive to me in particular. So... sorry, I have to poke the hornet's nest on that one. I am a lady, after all, with a layabout husband IRL that shouldtotallytakeinspirationfrommywriting cough cough.

Thanks for stopping by!~

Actually, if you can find a working motherboard for my laptop, I'd be super appreciative!
Here's the model number: FX505DV-PB74

Or, you can add me on Discord, and we'll talk. :3c

Hmm, did the story mention your witch hat is orange? ...Ah yes, it did. My bad. You know, I imagine your hat in the story to be bigger, so that it can tip over and cover your eyes if you’re not careful! :rainbowlaugh:

Also, you’re saying that this is a self insert. But you also wrote this:

See! Total self insert material, right there! Just edit Arin’s name to whatever you want, and-

...
So, who are you now? :derpyderp2:

The self insert line was never directed at me! It was more so directed at the viewer; personally, I'm a cute witchy mare with an obssession with all things Autumn, baking, and other witchy things.
