I write too much too little for no reason. Now I'm off to hyperfixate on detailing that bush.

It's been three whole years since I started writing! Woohoo! All that time wasted thinking about ponies! :pinkiehappy:

    Jinx, where ya been?

Hiya! How's tricks? Are you doing well?

Sorry I've not been around or writing much for, like, a month. I put out a side story a 'lil while ago, but it's honestly not my best work. You can go read it if you haven't, but I can do better—and I should've done better. It's just that writing has been... a tenuous activity for me for awhile now.

What it says on the tin!

Just thought I'd give a 'lil heads up, since I'm anticipating total completion of the chapter in the next few days. Three, tops. i've said stuff like that before. hedge your bets, 'cause it might take four

A freaky dream, and the continuation of The Stereotypical Necromancer!

Well, too bad! I'm talking about the dream I had last night, first! :rainbowwild:

Irrefutable proof that lampshading is a valid technique · 1:42pm Aug 7th, 2021

I don't know how to avoid tropes. :raritydespair:

good thing the entire point of the title of my story is to address the idea of a stereotype so i can either play into or subvert tropes as much as i want and i'll still look good heheheheh

wait fuck that's just another kind of lampshading

I love hanging lampshades, honestly.

If you have read my writing, then you know of my own avarice for the technique. In my broken head, it's the perfect way to avoid criticism for being too plain or serious or unlikable. It's harder to get accused of playing into something if you're the one who brought it up, after all.

Of course, it just makes it even worse if you are called out on it; though my defense for such a thing would probably just be a bigger lampshade.

You may have also caught onto the fact that this very post is just an advanced lampshade. :derpytongue2:

it's like inception but with bad writing practices. what's next, a deus ex machina?
