When a story reaches that point of no return · 9:34pm Aug 4th, 2021
Hey everyone,
It's been a while since I did a blog post, but now feels like a good time. My most recent story "Ocean Blues" got a surprisingly good reception so far with 30 upvotes. It started as a little fun between friends to work up some past issues we both went through, and to vent some frustration. Recently, it's been "only" my story, since sadly I lost touch with the friend that helped me come up with the initial idea.
Ocean Blue has now reached the turn where there's going to be a major change. That change was planned from the beginning, although the way up to it turned out a bit different than I first planned.
When the next chapter drops, I expect to get some reaction from my readers. Either they like Blue enough that they will follow her, or they don't like the new direction at all and will drop out at this point. I won't say I'll not be disappointed when that happens, but I wouldn't be surprised much.
The story will stay mostly focused on Blue, but Spring Meadow, her older sister, will get more time in the spotlight as well. After only getting a few side appearances so far, she will be the new counterpoint to Blue, the role Sunset Shimmer had so far. Sunset won't drop out completely, but she will appear less.
I'm currently working on a chapter 12.5 because the transition seemed a bit rough. I hope I can release it within the next two weeks. Chapter 13 will be the first part of the new story arch and is already written.
On that note, I'm still looking for an editor/proof reader. My writing schedule is very sporadic, so I can't really offer a regular basis, but I would appreciate the help a lot.
My other stories are still growing, but slower than expected. "Alternative Origins" will get another chapter hopefully by the end of the month. The Crystal Note AU will get another side story arch, focusing on another side character from my version of the Crystal Empire, but it's going to be more than one chapter this time.
I'm not going to put up a timeline for future updates, but I'm still writing and I intend to keep writing. And if I'm slow, well... please be patient with me
