Greetings, my friends! I am back with another movie review for tonight! Let’s talk about the overall awesomeness incarnate that is Space Jam: A New Legacy! Folks, words cannot express how much I fully loved and enjoyed this masterpiece all the way through. I don’t care what any hater out there says because I love this film for what it is. It has crossovers innumerable, it is filled with amazing references here and there, it has sweet cameos of characters we’ve seen before, an interesting story, a well thought out moral, and an amazing villain.

Speaking of which, Don Cheadle did a fantastic job as Al G. Rhythm. That guy was a fantastic, charismatic, jovial, yet evilly manipulative antagonist. As a matter of fact, he seemed a lot more sinister and threatening than Swackhammer. Al G. Rhythm’s motivations seemed much more complex and intriguing to me as I watched the film. Considering how absolutely spiteful and harsh he was when it came to a father-son relationship, it really makes me think he had a tough time during his childhood as he had father issues while growing up. That’s at least my head canon that would explain Al G. Rhythm’s antagonistic nature.

LeBron James did a good performance as himself in the film. It’s kinda annoying that many people gave him shit for his “bland and emotionless” performance in the film. To be honest, I can’t really take that seriously. Didn’t they criticize Michael Jordon the same thing in the original Space Jam film? Considering that neither of them are actors, what do you really expect them to do? So cut LeBron some slack. On a side note, I thought he was pretty good as the main protagonist.

Among other things I enjoyed in this film was that Lola Bunny was actually treated like an equal instead of a sex object. Bugs Bunny had a lot more character development than I’ve ever seen him in other Looney Tunes movies, the comedy was hilarious, the animation and CGI alike were executed well, the cinematography was excellent, and the writing of the Looney Tune characters were on point.

Man, Warner Brothers had one heck of a time, didn’t they? Oh, and I loved that cameo and clever joke involving Michael B. Jordon. I really chuckled at that part. However, I did not expect to see cameos of the Nerd-lucks/Monstars during the climax. That really caught me off guard. The Rick and Morty cameo was a surprise too.

I really loved the message this movie sent to us: always be yourself when it comes to doing something you really enjoy doing. Never let anyone out there tell you otherwise.

The direction by Malcolm D. Lee was brilliant as well as the music by Hans Zimmer and Kris Bowers. The screenwriters must have had so much fun writing the screenplay.

Yeah, this wins a massive 12/10 from me. If some of you hate this film, that’s fine. I just really don’t get why a lot of people hate this movie. Well, the original film was also hated by the majority the same way; I guess one could say that history repeats itself.

Peace!

Never saw it but telling from the trailer. I will love it

I loved this movie when I saw it. Wasn’t expecting it to do how it was doing (which I discovered before I saw the movie, which I still loved).

Loved some of those cameos, too.

Beyond one little nitpick with the ending...I loved it. Then again, I'm not a professional critic whose job has made them hate just about every Summer movie that comes out.

Whenever I’ve talked about my interest in seeing this movie with my family, they’d question why I’m interested in seeing the film in the first place. It’s not just due to my ironic hatred for the first movie…but because of LeBron James in the lead role. They’re not big fans of him because of his controversial political points and behavior, and for a time I wondered whether the film would even do well because of his involvement.

However, the prime reasons for why I’m interested in checking out the movie are because it looks like it’ll be an improvement over the original in every way and has all the qualifications the first movie lacked.

Your review inspired me all-the-more to give it a shot someday, and I’m happy it’s something you enjoyed.

Thank you. I’m sure you’ll love it too.

In retrospect, the one thing I’ve often questioned the most about the first film, and this movie despite not seeing it yet, is why Warner Bros. couldn’t just hire an experienced and for-real actor who could play a fictional basketball player instead of an actual one playing himself.

Call me crazy, but I honestly think that would be more interesting.

5560831
I guess that could have worked. However, an actual actor would have to literally know how to play basketball like LeBron James and Michael Jordon do. Other than that, it’s a good idea.

But I’m still happy with what I got.

However, an actual actor would have to literally know how to play basketball like LeBron James and Michael Jordon do.

Of course. But, that wouldn’t stop the actor from learning how to play basketball in preparation and playing the game himself. Things like that are what many actors do before taking on a role.

That’s true.

The thing is that I look upon LeBron James as a character in the movie separate from how he is in reality despite that he’s playing as himself. People need to stop dwelling on reality whenever they watch a movie especially the type that is a family/comedy/animated film.

However, I did not expect to see cameos of the Nerd-lucks/Monstars during the climax. That really caught me off guard.

What are the odds, Mr. J? Both me and you had that same reaction as well! :D :yay:

always be yourself when it comes to doing something you really enjoy doing. Never let anyone out there tell you otherwise.

You know Mr. J, that's always my favorite moral in life no matter what. ^^ Cause after all.... if I didn't end up doing my online life from mid 2015 to the present day.... where would I be now? :)

It’s an inspiring moral indeed.

I...really hate to come and say this. I just re-watched this movie last night....and for some reason, my love for this film just died out. I...I don't know why. My second viewing of the film instantly changed my opinion, and it is not as great as I once thought it was 8 months ago. Sorry to disappoint y'all, but I just wanted to be honest. This movie is now worthless to me.

5640864
It’s okay. I wasn’t sure if I should ever see the film anyway.

5640865
Thanks, man.

5640866
If you hated the first movie, you're gonna hate this one more. It is shamelessly trash.

5640867
Funny. When I saw clips of the sequel in the past, it seemed unlikable yet not as hateful as the first movie.

5640870
Eh, your choice. Let me know if you decide to give it a shot.

5640867
No problem. Love you.

5640864
I don't mind if you don't like the movie. Each of us have our own taste in movies

5640871
Speaking of re-watching, have you been able to see the 2021 “Tom and Jerry” movie again. If so, how have things been faring between you and that movie?

5640864
It's fine, Mr. J. :)

Besides.... we each have our own opinion on things.

After all.... it's how life keeps going for us and how things that we like change overtime. :)

5640902
I haven’t re-watched the movie yet. It’s admittedly been a while. :twilightsheepish:

5640920
I was just wondering.

I haven't watched it in a while either, but I'm hoping that it's still as good as the first time I saw it. I can't help but hope the same for you too.

5640864
Hmm...who's to say what can cause our opinions to change?
