Bout time for an update, eh?

Not a big enough update to qualify for Rabbit Tracks, but this is just to say: Work is continueing on "Just a Pony", albeit slowly. Two more chapters down, then I got sidetracked by videogames, now I'm sidetracked by homework and sickness, and then hopefully back to "Just a Pony" soon!

    Irony

I tried to write a blog about how I haven't been able to write. I accidentally hit ctrl+r and refreshed the page, losing everything I had written. A cruel bit of irony. I am tired and angry with myself and scared for my future as a writer and I do not have the energy to retype it, so pretend there is some sincere and heartfelt explanation here and you're moved by the struggles of some weird

Pictures should be fixed across all stories

At this point if anyone is seeing broken images in my fics on Fimfiction please let me know! For anyone looking for a new image hosting site with Discord having done the Big Suck, I used Postimages and it was rather simple and efficient.

    Image hosting

Real quick, I know my images are all borked again; what are folks using for image hosting these days? Needs to be free and the less likely it is to implode the better... I was using Discord until just recently which is why this mess happened lmao

    Becoming myself

It's a bit strange that I've spent days trying to figure out how to write this. It's such a big thing and I want to get that across to y'all, but I never will. So I'm just going to rip off the bandaid and get this out there. Because something amazing happened to me.

The Opening Act, another Who We Become story by thedarkprep · 1:29am Jul 3rd, 2021

Howdy, y'all. As I mentioned yesterday, I actually have a Who We Become story ready to come out soon, but in the meantime, you can get your fix right now with The Opening Act by thedarkprep! This was actually her initial idea that she came up with to write in the WWB universe, her other story (Under Her Spell) was written as a prequel to take part in Pride and Positivity. And while Under Her Spell was very good, this one is on a whole other level. It just has this feeling that reads as "Who We Become". And I'm not alone in this; my writing partner Gowak said much the same thing about it.

Just like Under Her Spell, this story is actually canon to WWB, and it will actually have a much bigger impact on the universe than UHS did. UHS mostly impacts Trixie by setting her up in the universe, and I haven't used Trixie so it was easy to feel like that story is disjointed from the rest. This one is still about Trixie, but a) it involves another character on a significant level, one we're more used to seeing in WWB although she often gets left out of the spotlight, and b) sets up the reason why Trixie will be a recurring character in the human side of WWB from here on out.

Timeline-wise, this takes place after Coda, making it the next step in the series for those who have read everything. Those who haven't can still read and understand the story fully, although our secondary character is not exactly the way she is in canon, having been shaped by the events of the series to this point. You don't need to know those events to understand the story, but if you haven't read the series all the way through, just know that her change was a slow one over years of stuff happening.

I do hope that y'all will read this story, giving it the same amount of attention you would if I were the author. It's highly recommended as a great story on its own, even aside from the WWB connection. Enjoy, and hope to see y'all in the comments!
