In the arcane arsenal of The Grand Archmage, therein lies six powerful curses, often called The Deadly/Lethal Casts. Very few mages can cast these, as it requires a high concentration of mana and mental focus to even begin casting them. The stain they leave on the caster is also considerable, often leaving scars or removing limbs during a successful cast. These spells are thus reserved for The Grand Archmage because of their potency and destructive power. Behold the following list, detailing The Lethal Casts:
6.) The Jinx of Mortal Injury, Excadaverous - a blast of inky light that can spear and/or maim a living target. Is often lethal when it strikes vital organs or spears through the heart or brain. Is quick to cast but is the weakest of the Lethal Casts.
5.) The Curse of Sudden Death, Rigomorte - When struck with this curse, target's nervous system is forced to shut down, ceasing all autonomous and voluntary motor function, often resulting simultaneous brain and heart death. Also referred as The Silent Death.
4.) The Hex of Immediate Subatomic Fusion, Adrava Kedarava - Causes a target to experience acute subatomic fusion, collapsing all molecules into a single before bursting apart in a brilliant shower of viscera. Considered the second most painful way to die via magic.
3.) A Malediction That Seizes the Mind, Cogniti Non Ergo - This spell causes a series of aneurysms within a target, destroying the brain and killing the target. Target does not need to be Sophant, though the effect is more potent if the target is Sophant.
2.) The Spell of Organic Entropic Eradication, Consumption - Target or targets struck with this spell are caught, helpless, as their bodies begin to break down from outside in. Victims of this spell are often said to turn to ash before the eyes of witnesses. Unknown if target(s) suffer any pain while dying. Can be used for an individual or a multiplicity of targets. Can also be used on inorganic targets.
1.) The Light of Devastation, Ultima - Believed to be the apex of Lightning affinity based magic, this spell generates a dome of brilliant light. All hostile forces caught within the dome are removed from this plane of existence, never to be heard from again. Allies are safe from the spell. Eliminates all traces of foes from a battlefield; unknown are the limits of the dome's reach.
