Hero trotted into the Veterans Hall, heading towards the cemetery wing. Melody was behind him. He sighed, looking through the graves, before stopping at one. Melody put a wing around him. He sighed again, crouching down beside it. Melody sat beside him, kissing him gently on the cheek. He smiled, placing a silver bit on the grave.
“I’m sure they miss you so much, puppy.”
“I miss them too…”
“I know…”
Hero sat against the grave, beginning to tear up. Melody pulled him close. He began crying softly. Melody wrapped her wings around him. Hero buried his muzzle into her neck. Melody held him close. Hero continued crying. At least until…
“Dahdah…?”
Melody looked up and held out her hoof. Four tiny nymphs crawled over. Melody put her wings around them.
“Dahdah?”
“Dada’s a little sad today Valor…”
The nymphs looked over, before crawling over to him, climbing onto him. Melody picked up Luz, holding out the newest nymph.
Hero looked up. “M-Miracle…”
“She’s her daddy’s girl, she can cheer daddy up.”
Hero picked her up, smiling. Miracle giggled and snuggled into her father. Hero’s breathing slowed, and he felt his eyes grow heavy. Melody put her wings around him, drawing their babies close.
Soon, Hero and Miracle were snoring peacefully. Melody smiled, lifting the two up and setting Valor, Valeria, and Luz onto her back, walking out.
