-on account of the 'uniqueness' of my work schedule.
YAY CAPITALISM.
But! This means it's 'Friday' which means I'm kicking back with a beer and fancy food documentaries on Netflix and ... goofing around on the internets. Woo? The thing that always throws me off about watching food shows is that they always remind me that the leftovers in my fridge are a lot less enticing than the various gourmet delicacies on display. But hey, at least I've got fancy beer, right? Well, food documentaries, and Super Cub-- I'm not huge into slice of life anime but I've been charmed all to hell by this random TV show under the premise of "Buy a Honda scooter! Make friends!" Like, that's the whole show. It's surprisingly engrossing.
In any case, I just figured I'd check in! There's not a new issue of Transformers vs. My Little Pony out yet, but, rest assured, when issue #3 hits, I will share my expert opinions about it.
In the meanwhile ... meh? Things progress? I've been using the phrase 'liminal state' a lot over the last ... year, but dammit if it doesn't stop being true. Though I look at things in a somewhat more optimistic sense, as if I'm in a state where nothing is defined, that means I can do ... whatever I want? Kind of? Maybe? Which, well, I'm stupidly lucky in that I have the freedom to do that, but I've been saying I've been stupidly lucky ever since the world starting going to shit about a year ago. So at least that's held up? But, uh, I'm not about to hit a casino anytime soon. Ain't that lucky.
Still, got some, uh ... prospects, let's say. Options, if you will. As while I've gotten back into the groove of a 'real people job,' I've stumbled across some other options that will either pay better and/or be more fun. Yay capitalism?
In more 'artistic' news, I've got A Thing I'm working on. Non pony, I'm sorry to say. But I completed the first draft of this novel about a month ago, and I'm hoping to have it it a submittable state by the end of the summer. At which point I'll shop it around to see if any Actual Publishers pick it up-- or, if that falls through, I may try my hand at self-publishing-- but I'm getting ahead of myself. Gotta have something worth self publishing, you know? But hey. I'll get there. Eventually.
Though not tonight. As I've been something of a slacker and not gotten to my editing over the last few days. Shoot. Which has me also feeling vaguely slacker-ish as I haven't written any pony story for ... awhile. I kind of want to fix that? But I'm not quite sure of how just yet. I mean, I've got at least two entries of the Flash Sentry Papers in me, I dare say (Sentry's Last Stand and From Yakyakistan, With Love both have a ring to them). But Netflix still hasn't dropped S9 of pony show for 'research' yet, aaaand honestly to properly do a Sentry story may take more brain bandwith than I have to spare right now. Pity. But hey, nobody reads those stories anyway, right?
Alternately, if I can think of a good (read: stupid) enough joke, I might try hammering out something about some combination of the Mane 6-- human or pony version, depending on what comes to mind. But, sadly, nothing immediately comes to mind as I type this blog post. So I guess these random saison-fueled ramblings are all that my few (but exquisitely cultured) fans have to go on for now.
Still! I'm doing well enough, and I can only hope that y'all are doing the same. It's a big, weird world out there.
