Story Idea: The Disaster of Stable 69 (And 68) · 7:20am Jun 13th, 2021
Doing a new thing here where I give a little summary of a clopfic idea I've had in the past but never got around to writing to see if anyone would have been interested in it.
Now there's a lot of love for Fallout Equestria, and a lot of fan clop, so I'm surprised no one ever wrote a clopfic about Vault 69, which FYI, is actually canon in Fallout lore and something really I wish they would put in a Fallout game. Though be warned, I am a bit shaky on my Fallout Equestria lore knowledge since I read the original fic years ago.
For all intents and purposes Stable 69 was designed to be the best Stable-Tec and Equestria had to offer. Original design documents filed in Stable-Tec HQ note it was a Stable designated and designed solely for the preservation and rebuilding of Equestria, should a worst case scenario come to pass. No inhumane test or cruel experiments were officially planned for any Stable residents. The Stables themselves were even designed to be outfitted with the latest in Stable-Tec technology that allowed for a fully automated experience with minimal staffing requirements from residents, only appropriate given both the age and scale of the residents of this particular stable.
Stable 69's residents were listed as both entirely female and entirely foals, with the only exception being the Overseer who was a male stallion. In addition, this Stable was designed to house a full one thousand ponies, making an effective gender ratio of 999:1. The fillies were handpicked selected to be the best and most promising young minds in Equestria. This high scores in academics were needed because their sole purpose after the Stable was sealed was to be taught any and all skills needed, from engineering to agriculture, to rebuild and remake Equestria. And their young age was required as this learning would take place over a period of 20 years as residual radiation levels in the outside world died down, allowing them to both survive the wait and not be to old to exercise their skills upon their exit.
On the same note, Stable 68 was designed with the exact same purpose, but with genders swapped. 999 colt inhabitants controlled by 1 mare overseer. The genders of the two vaults were separated to better focus the young ponies on the task at hand. However, only the Overseers were aware the two Stables were actually connected to each other... from actually two different entrances...
While similar in purpose to another Stable, Stable 76, both Stable 69 and 68 were deemed needed as early testing of Stable 76 revealed it to be a buggy clusterfuck of a mess that wouldn't just work.
Both fillies and colts were planned to be gathered at the Stable's entrance with their families when a warning was sent out. Instructions would be given that all children would be processed first and lead into the Stable. Once they were all inside, the Stable door would close and lock, separating them from their parents rather permanently. A necessary trick, given the bigger picture at stake.
All of this was the officially documented reasons for both Stable 68 and 69's existence. It was a noble purpose with outside funding, and easily passed for approval. However... the ones seeing to the Stable's construction and development had rather different intentions for the Stable's use. A collection of Canterlot's wealthy elite, long since suspected of having *younger tastes* when it came to sexual partners, were actually in charge of the two Stables. Having long since blamed the princesses for the war, they used their money not to help the cause, but instead secure their own future in the form of their own personalized ideal heaven. The fillies and colts, they each handpicked from all corners of Equestria merely based on their looks and desirability, were never planned to receive an education after the doors locked them inside, but rather, be subjected to no shortage of sexual torture, grooming, rape, molestation, and humiliation at the hands of their elders in a Stable designed solely to domesticate and abuse them for years and years to come.
In the days leading up to Equestria's Armageddon, the stable doors were locked and it seemed as if the wealthy aristocrats had their prizes safe and secure in their clutches... with the exception of one unregistered and unexpected little filly who had snuck into the stable in the chaos. That filly being none other than a disguised Queen Chrysalis, seeking her own safety from the chaos the ponies had created in the outside world...
So that's the basic rundown of a story I can't write. A bit darker tone of a clopfic to go with the overall dark theme that the Fallout universe has. I've been trying to think up ideas for a foalcon fic for a while now, something that would ideally focus on Chrysalis with some serious Ara Ara energy, and Dragon Lord Ember. All underage foals would be feral ponies, and everyone else would be anthro.
Not a bad idea overall. Although my tastes would of had the stables had their classes teach them how to be the best sexual servant and warping their ideals and what they think is normal. But that's just me.
A solid concept, to be sure. Although going heavy on the dark-drama is not my preference, a bit of that to punctuate the story is good. Here's a thought; instead of offsetting the foal bits by calling them feral, you could instead explain how the 'grooming' / humiliation / molestation, etc. became normal for the Vault society. Not inherently dark, but the potential is there to occasionally remind readers that this is still an apocalypse.

If I were to write it would probably have minimal focus on the rich guys getting their way and focus more on the underdog and what Chrysalis does to stop them, or whatever action she manages to somehow get.
But I'm confused what you mean by offsetting the foal bits by calling them feral.

In my mind, saying they are feral makes them closer to animal than sentient, which removes any character association. As such, darker writing involving those individuals becomes easier to read (and possibly easier to write). If you are to write about foals in this setting, I'd rather they retain recognition as a young pony than simply being a non-descript background element (random feral foal).

For lack of a better term, I just say feral meaning four legged pony in a similar look and mindset to those you see them on the mlp show itself. As opposed to anthro or even human, which I'm not allowed write foal-aged characters in this kind of setting according to Fimfic's rules, otherwise I'd likely be writing them as anthro like I'm used to.

That makes sense. In that case carry on, my mustachio'd author. Chrysalis as a hero/anti-hero is always an interesting read.
