The Master Mev: Chapter 68 - The Show "Behold Our Nightmare Night" Lyrics Video (A Cappella)

Here is a whole lot of text copied and pasted from the video description mainly because I wanted to show off my inspiration playlist. I may as well share the rest though:

This video is a supplement to an upcoming chapter of my My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Rainbow Dash fanfiction, The Master Mev. The chapter itself will be linked at a later time when it is ready. It will only be a few days. I do not want to be struggling or rushing to publish both at the same time on the same day.

While I note at least some screams and a laugh in the video, I am not explaining some of the actions that happen during the song because that was growing complicated and more work than I was willing to give this video. One will have to read the chapter to understand what happens at some points while a reader has the option of listening or watching this video to get a feel for my intended rhythm in the singing.

Please know that I am aware of my limits. I am not a professional singer and while I do like to sing, it is also not one of my stronger or more common hobbies either. I published this piece because I considered my singing good *enough* for showing how I want the song to go. I worked really hard on writing this song and am proud of it.

While the song is long for my own personal tastes, I wanted everything that's in the song to be there.

The title and line "Behold Our Nightmare Night" is yes, definitely inspired by "This Is Halloween," the song and opening sequence to the movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Readers of the story may have picked up on another reference to this movie in the preceding chapter, titled The Night Before Nightmare Night.

Technically "Bats" from the MLPFIM episode Bats! was not on the playlist, but it may as well have been. I definitely had it in mind.

An unintentional inspiration for this song is that some of the tune is akin to a sped up "Hush Little Baby". I sang that song probably hundreds of times when my daughter was a baby. As such, it is deeply rooted in my heart and became part of the heart of this song. I realized this match when I was a good 90% done with finalizing the song through making this video. Since it is such a big part of my own heart in multiple ways and I was so far along, I kept it that way.

There might be another version later with character voice singers and music from a composer (if I can find and afford one) though I will not fully commit to such a thing at this time.
