I've been thinking for a while; what makes bronies and pegasisters so awesome? Well, let's take the background characters first. Fans of the show took it for themselves to immediately name just about every character that was shown and put together pairings and relationships right off the bat. We have Lyra, who never said a word until the end of the second season, together with Bon Bon, and they remain towards the top in shipping. We also have Vinyl Scratch, who has only been shown like three times the entire show, yet she remains one of the top favorite overall pony for many fans, who unanimously chose to give her red eyes and pair her with Octavia, a character showed like once (I think) and put them also at the top in pairs.
Anyone, tell me one other show where the fans like the random character in the background just as much as the main characters? None! Because fans took it on themselves to create personalities and entire lifestyles for them;
Lyra and her crazed obsession with humans
Derpy and her muffin obsessions, and Dinky as her daughter.
How about Colgate as the official dentist for the town?
And the fan names which were so agreed with that hasbro made them official?
Thanks to all of the fans out there, we have perhaps the best fandom of any show from the past. brohoof to all of you!

Amen to Jlargent. Our fanbase is a creative one, everyday Bronies and Pegasisters are comming up with new and awsome ideas making the show that much more popular. I love this fanbase and everyone in it. MLP fanbase forever!!
I think a very strong reason for why this fandom in general is so goody-goody is because It requires you to have that type of personality to be attracted to it. only open-minded, generally good people, actually like the show, how many flat out jerks can you name that like it? because people who are jerks aren't attracted to this sort of thing.
also age-spells are canon, and apparently only EXTREMELY powerful unicorns can cast them. my headcanon? celestia and luna are mortal, and just subtract a year for every year they live.
I have to give my opinion on this. I am a pretty new brony, maybe just some months. I am the only brony in my city, so I have no one else to talk about the show and all the fandom work with.
Even so, I feel that I will never abandon this fandom. The show is awesome, and the fans are also awesome people. I mean like you Chaos, you are always supporting my work and encouraging me to keep wrting and improving.
I come from another fandom, and they were not even near to be the nice and kind persons that the huge majority of us, bronies and pegasister are.
I have to agree 100% with Thardoc. We are awesome because we are open-minded people, all together, working towards a same goal that is create more and more content to our favorite show.
