This episode has some of best imagery and it was big on the series staple of Star Wars references.

During the animal levitation spell scene, part of me expected those animals to puke.

It's great to see Pinkie's dad: Clyde again, plus I love the look of dread Trixie has when he points to the large pile of boulders. Then Pinkie pipes up to defend the rock farm.

I do like that it takes Spike to be in trouble for Twilight to agree to Trixie's duel.
Spike gets turned into a basket ball and Trixie actually makes the basket.

That duel was awesome and I wasn't expecting the return of the parasprites.
If there is one spell Twilight can cast correctly, it's the mustache spell.
Old Snails and foal snips. Yep still deserve it. It would have been funnier if Granny Smith had gone all "Want it, Need it" spell on Snails.
The Simpsons did it.

And here I was, thinking I'm the only who still thought Trixie as villain as she started the whole mess prior to asking Twilight Sparkle for forgiveness as she chose to continue as a 'Great and Powerful Trixie' fraud after the Ponyville incident in which the truth came out in which ponies don't take her seriously and possibly didn't make as much money that she wanted; as a direct result she had to work in a rockfarm for a living . If anything, I'm amused about Pinkie Pie's defense when Trixie made a jab about having to do a rockfarming job (to which I'm surprised since one would imagine she would hate thinking about the place, more-less then to defend it)
Twilight needs to find a way to beat Trixie in a second duel and have her take of the amulet
-Uses fake magic to create illusions to misdirect Trixie that Twilight's amulet is more powerful then Trixie's Alicorn Amulet (ironically the kind of thing Trixie would do)
-Gives credit that it was the 'Magic of Friendship' that outsmarted Trixie. (to which is was nothing more but illusionary acts)
Apparently, Lauren Faust's designs to have Zecora as a second mentor to Twilight Sparkle had came to pass in this episode (soure:exclusive season-1 retrospective Question 15, third paragraph). Surprising enough, Fluttershy can act good for a Rainbow Dash duplicate.Also gotta love the over-motherly attitude of Fluttershy when Twilight wanted to simply levitate her animals, even go as far as threatening Twilight herself should anything happened (to which i lolled hard and find it very cute
).
Overall good episode
