Keeping you guys posted · 12:06am Mar 23rd, 2021
Since the release of chapter 3 of Renovation of the Heart took so long I wanted to keep ya'll posted on what's going on so you don't think I just abandoned the fic. Obviously the jump between chapter 2 to chapter 3 was huge in word count, but like I already stated before, I felt that it needed to be that length. I know not everyone likes to read huge chapters like that but to me it was the right call. The thing is, when I started writing chapter 4 I just wasn't feeling it like I was before, and it felt like a struggle. So while chapter 4 is on the way, I've been working on a separate fic to practice other stuff I feel I need to touch up on-- two in fact.
The first is just a one shot. Honestly, reading over the stuff from chapter 2 I felt that what clop I had written in Renovation was just okay and was basically passable at best. It had context for why that was, but it was drab and unfulfilling on purpose. I didn't want that to be the case for any future updates that happen so the one I'm currently writing and almost finished with is a clopfic featuring everyone's favorite griffon, Gilda. It's already at the 10,000 word mark and will be out soon. The other fic will be another series entirely and will be my next project after I finish up Renovation. While that one is quite a ways off I hope you all enjoy it, despite the change in genres, when it does eventually get released. Power metal is one hell of a good stimulator for the imagination.
So that's basically what's been going on and I hope I didn't disappoint anyone by the lack of new chapters for Renovation.
Love your chapters

Glad you enjoy it!
The first 2 chapters were good and so was the third. I didn't mind the delay and I enjoyed the entirety of the long third chapter. Fully onboard with what you're doing.

Thanks! Clop was especially hard to write without it becoming repetitive. I feel the need to practice my writing more so this one shot is a perfect place for me to do so. I want to try to stay away from larger 10K chapters, but if they end up that long, I'll probably give a heads up before hand so everyone has an idea of what's taking so long for an update.
