Chapter 5 Part 1 Up! (Feb 16th) · 8:06am Feb 16th, 2021
Our first part of Chapter Five is up! It’s a bit of a doozy on the length, but the next couple of parts after are a bit shorter. As stated before in author’s notes and wherever else, this chapter’s going to get pretty intense, and for those of you reading this who aren’t as familiar with Danganronpa: all I can say is, be ready.
Most of what I’d have to say about the chapter so far I’ve mentioned in the author’s notes, but I do want to say that of the entire story, this chapter is perhaps my favorite of all, and I hope that you all end up enjoying it as much as I did writing it.
However, I’m also going to try and say less than I usually would, till it’s all over, because I don’t want to spoil the experience.
Moving on to story progress… it’s officially complete, everyone! As of Monday, February 15th, I’ve put the finishing touches on the epilogue. Supreme amounts of thanks must be passed along once more to Rainstorm Riddles for helping to review everything you haven’t seen yet, and help me refine details here and there.
Because of this, as mentioned before, we will be moving to an official three post per week cycle. These will be at midnight on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. By my estimate this means the final post of the story should take place on about Saturday, March 27th, assuming I don’t do any more bonus posts.
During this time I will be going back and doing a few minor edits here and there of earlier parts, for consistency with later on in the story. Nothing major, nothing that means you need to reread. Just minor details that I caught myself when I went back to read it again that are just a wee bit inconsistent with later events. There might be things I want to enhance too, like the first two Chapter’s scrum debates, which looking back now feel weak and short next to the latter three.
But setting that aside, I’ll also be working on at least a couple of other shorter works, while I decide what to do for a follow up to this story. There are two strong possible follow ups. One is, of course, the Cruise Mode/Love Boat mode that you all saw referenced in Chapter Four. The other, however, would involve some substantial spoilers of Chapter Five and Six, so I won’t say what it is just yet. It would, however, be a serious story, and almost wholly lacking in crossover elements.
There’s also nothing stopping me from doing both, but we’ll see.

If you mean, will I write executions for the ones who didn't get executed? I'm not sure. I have notes on possible execution ideas, but I'm not sure I'd want to write many of them out. I did enjoy writing the ones for the story, where they fit in the story, but writing them outside of that context feels... odd. And a bit like wallowing in dark for the sake of dark, which has never been something I enjoy. But I will share thoughts and details that I did come up with, at least. Not everyone's going to have something though, because there are certain characters I never once considered could be a blackened, therefore I have no idea what I would do for them, such as Apple Bloom.
