For those of you who aren't aware, I do artwork over on Derpibooru alongside my writing here on Fimfiction. Derpibooru recently held its Anniversary Community Collab Thing, for which I entered a fully coloured picture of Skycroft and "Sleipnir"!
Hopefully I did them both justice. Granted, it's a bit of a visual mess with the legs, but function over form is fine given the nature of the collab. Included is a short, general rundown of their characters, though one thing I didn't mention in the Derpi post are the visual hints I added to their designs while drawing them.
You'll notice the two small hammers popping out of Skycroft's collar. Those are meant to mimic the metal prong-things on Big Mac's yoke, calling back to Skycroft's origins as a farmcolt. His leg braces are meant to resemble anvils when viewed from above.
Seldom's armour I'm less sure about given he's not fully developed yet as a character, but as for him, I gave him lots of pointy bits, meant to resemble Sleipnir's "tusks". Ponies don't normally have those, so I guess I was trying to draw a link between Seldom's advanced transformation abilities and the god Sleipnir being "something more" than equine, given his status. A lot less armour in general for Seldom to give him room to transform.
As for story-related stuff, I've made a start on chapter 15. I have a decently detailed idea of how things should progress, but expect maybe two weeks before its completion. Will probably start writing Black Mountain for real next week. I'm bouncing around ideas for other, smaller stories as well. Stuff to fill in the blanks, stuff to expand the world, etc. I'll probably have more of an idea what those could be in the next blog post.
